Who else is waiting since 2006 or even before that? I always feel forgotton on this forum because people are worried about having to wait for 6 months or 3 months. I am sure that there are more people waiting like I have been. And please dont give me the advice that I should contact people to help. Trust me I have contacted everyone that I can. The problem with Senators and Congressman is they can only do an inquiry on your file. I can do my own inquiry. Also anyone from MENA- has anyone successfully claimed descriminination and won that anyone is aware of?

DEAR RUTHANNE, I'M WAITING SINCE 11/14/06 . THAT WAS THE DATE OF MY SO INTERVIEW. HE WAS TOLD HE WOULD HEAR FROM THE EMBASSSY IN 1 MONTH. STILL WE ARE WAITING . I TOO CONTACTED MY CONGRESSMAN. AND THE REPLY THE EMBASSY ALWAYS GIVES IS..... THIS CASE IS IN ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS. YOU BE NOTIFIED WHEN IT IS COMPLETE.

We've actually been fighting this whole immigration system since May of 2001! We met while Hicham was here in the States going to school. Our I-130 was approved right off, but Hicham had an appeal on a denied asylum case that had to be dismissed before his AOS was complete. We were at the 1 1/2 year mark still waiting for the asylum case to be dismissed when Hicham's mother became very ill. When Hicham tried to come home, we found out he was barred from re-entering the US unless he had a I-601 waiver. WHY? Because while we were waiting for the asylum case to be dismissed, even though our I-130 was approved, his student visa ran out. So we had to start all over again in August of 2005. The paperwork had to go from our local office to the NVC to Casa and now it's in Rome for the final decision. Our AP wait time was a year and and two months! Hicham's actual I-601 waiver interview at Casa was the day that the bombing happened and they shut down the CO. He was on the train from Rabat when he got the call from Casa that his interview would be rescheduled and then they shut down for two months. We have now been waiting since August of this year when Rome advised they had finally received his file. We've been told that the wait time can be anywhere from 90-180 days. I have recently been hearing rumors though that Rome is six months behind.

I've gone through the birth of our son and the sudden death of my father without Hicham here. I go over to see him for 2 weeks every year. I've now been four times.

This nightmare has pushed our relationship to the very limits. There were several times that I thought we just weren't going to make it. Hicham has been tough for me when I felt like I couldn't get through this and I have been tough for him when he has doubts. I will never, ever say that I'm thankful that things have taken so long, but our relationship has now grown into something so wonderful and so strong, that I don't think would have happened had we not gone through this process. It's taught us to REALLY talk and listen to each other...because that's all we have right now.

I've seen many people offer the same advice and I think it's the BEST advice about getting through all of this is that YOU MUST FIND WAYS TO TAKE YOUR MIND OFF THE CASE. I volunteered with the Red Cross the first couple of years (before our son was born) and that really helped to pass the time. You will drive yourself to insanity if all you think, do and breath is checking on the case status and updates. I have written so many letters and made so many phone calls, and nothing and I MEAN NOTHING is going to speed up this process.

I also caution anyone considering filing the WOM or (Writ of Mandamus). You must have STRONG proof that your case was purposefully delayed by government error in order to have this work in your favor. I have read that if you do not have sufficient proof, this filing will be denied and can acutally work against you in the final outcome of your case. In all of the time that we've been going through this, I have not come across one person that has successfully gone this route. NOT to say it can't happen, but I do believe it's rare.

I truly wish everyone going through this process to have strength and a final happy reunion with their SO. (F)

It’s been over a year for us. We filed November 2006. Israel soldiers/authorities have my prevented my fiancé from crossing into Jerusalem five different times to attend his interview. Case has been transferred to Amman Jordan. Hopefully he’ll receive an interview date soon.

Sigh.Still nothing on our end. Hugs for evey one in this group. Lets just make the best of what is left of this year. I spent the whole year in agony over this immigration #######. I just want to at least have one good memory of 2007. I have made it a point to TRY and just put this whole immigration thing out of my mind so that I can have some peace for the month and a half that we have left of this year. Serriously this whole process has made me into a nervous wreck. I want to be the person I used to be BEFORE we started this whole process. I feel that this year all the crying, and stress, and trying to get help took the best of me. I refuse to be in that state for what little is left of the year. Hopefully next year we can ALL start out with good news. KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!!
