Greetings!

My husband really wants to visit his Mother in Turkey, this year, as she is not well..

Even though he has his "2 year" green card ...he is so afraid they will not let him back

in to the United States...They were so evil and rude to him when he first came here

on his K-1 Visa into Philly as soon as they saw he was from Turkey (a Muslim country) they

treated him like a criminal..(so much for the city of brotherly love!!) so he really paranoid!

We don't file for lifting of conditions until Feb 2008.

I will not be able to travel with him.

Anyone (from a Muslim country or otherwise) have any problems with coming back on their 2 year green card?

I would really appreciate hearing your experiences!!

Thanks so much!

Betty

Hi Betty,

He should not fear it whatsoever. The conditional greencard isn't anything special really, just has an earlier expiration date than a 10 year green card he'll get after removal of conditions.

I know many Turks who traveled in such situations and there were never any problems. It'll be much different than his K1 entry. (a lot easier that is)

My wife came here on a K3 in July and just recently had to go back to Turkey and came back yesterday actually without any problems.

Traveled many times, with 2 year GC with expired GC and NOA1 letter, and even with Expired GC and to and from Turkey - never had problem. Well they ask questions but if you have all documents and original NOA1 letter - you are fine.
