I only made 19k last year, would this be enough to convice?

On October 16-19 I have my trip to Juarez and interview for my fiancee. I don't have properties or stocks to convince the consulate she wont become public charge. However I made just above the poverty level of $16,000 and I made $18,960. I was in college for the last 3 yrs fulltime and only had a part-time job at UPS.

This makes me a bit nervous that this wont convince them. I do have life insurance to her name and a 401k plan, which i started back in december 2006, and I only have about over $1,100. Once again not enough..

Did anyone been in the same situtation? Or should I ask my parents for support as a co-sponser?

Please let me know because Im started to get nervous.

You need to exceed $17112 for 2 people, YOU DO. unless you have any other dependents you should be fine.

You don't talk about your current work. Do you have a full-time job now? An employer letter and a few pay stubs would help your case.

When my fiance (now husband) went to Ciudad Juarez for his interview, I was in a similar situation as you. I had just graduated college and had my first "real" job. Although I was making enough money (and was above the poverty line), I decided to get a co-sponsor, just to be safe. So we used my dad as a co-sponsor to play it safe. If it makes you feel more comfortable, try using a co-sponsor, like we did.
