Hi VJ"S my fiance just pick up his package 3 and 4 on 9-27-07 and his interview date is on 11-19-07. Im kind of nervous about that. But my question is that Im working in New Orleans and lives in Mississippi and its a 2 hrs drive coming and going and its getting really hard. But, i was wondering what if I try to find a job in Mississippi, do you think it will be a problem? If so how soon can I switch jobs. Please help me with this.

Congratulations on the interview date :)

As for switching jobs it should have no bearing on the visa. The I-134 that you fill out will only need income information on your current employment.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. But even if I take less pay and my dad will be my co-sponsor do you think it will be a problem. I do not wont to just quit my job and take less pay without knowing. Or do you think I should wait till my fiance gets here and after were married then find another job. Maybe I'll just find an apartment in New Orleans. I hope someone can help me please. Because I really dont know what to do.

Congrats on the upcoming interview in November...Hmmm to answer your question, just my personal opinion, it may pose a problem for the consulate officer (depending on the CO's mood toward your fiance) when goes along with all the evidence that you have a history of stable employment and can support him while he transitions to life in america relying on your income to the two of you (i.e. proof of your current employment such as letter on company letterhead stating how long you have been with the company and what your salary is) -the consulate officer may look at your new employment verification (if you chose to submit this proof) as a negative since you have not been with the company for a long time...unless you can get your boss or someone in human resources to write you an employment verification letter now before you leave your current job and start the new job and send it off to your fiance now along all the other evidence he will need for his interview at the embassy, if thats the case then you may not need to even submit proof of employment at the new place you plan to work at.....

Good luck on the upcoming interview!

I agree. If he has his interview date already, you are nearing the end of the process. Stick it out so that they have less reason to question anything and then as soon as he's done you can quit and find something better.
