It will 4 weeks coming this wed and no answer yet whether the AOS interview was approved and just waiting for the I130 to be approved after investigation is completed. I will maybe call them this week so they can tell me they have no news and that I have to give it another 30 days. At least they can shoot and email over to the CSC regarding the I130 and maybe Chicago for the AOS. I know they did once for the I130 and I got a letter in the mail stating that they delayed processing the I130 due to standard investgation. Senators office said the same thing, coz i contacted them and they looked into it. Anyway, that's the story so far. My husband will be traveling on his K3 so when he returns, I told him nothing changes regarding immigrations at the airport. Just make sure you answer their questions right.

You're going to get the same replies that you did in your other topic two weeks ago. You're more than likely stuck in namecheck and this can take a while to go through. Nothing has changed since then.

We had our interview on Aug 8, 2006, and didn't find out until Dec 8, 2006 that the I-130 was approved. Wasn't until Dec 19, 2006 that the Greencard was approved. So 4 weeks is a very short time to wait.

Thanks for the answers everyone. Sorry if I seem a bit inpatient. I just don't understand why friends of ours had no problem getting green cards and we are stuck out there. I thought this was a board where you could come and freely ask questions and vent when you're frustrated. Sorry if I called some of you to my sight and irritated you!

You've certainly not irritated me, I just don't want you to feel that what you are going through is unusual or for you to get increasingly stressed as the days go by. Name check is all too common, unfortunately, on this board and the worse case scenario is that you could be there for a while.

This thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6694 was set up a while ago for those in a similar situation as yourself. It might be a good idea for you to have a read of it and join in there to discuss your woes and frustrations. I even think there may be a bottle of Bailey's hanging around there somewhere if LaL hasn't drunk the lot. ;):P

If you are unsure of the outcome of your AOS interview, why not make an infopass appt prior to your husband leaving? Im just thinking delays are not always for namecheck, and it would be wise to just check it out to see.

Also good advice!

Well at least you got an RFE at the interview which is telling you it's a good sign if they want more papers, so at least you know something. I know nothing. Anyway, my husband is ready to travel to see his family on Friday, so will have to do the infopass when he returns, which won't be until Nov. 17th.

If you do infopass prior to him leaving and find out your AOS has actually been approved, they could possibly give you the stamp. What happens if he gets his greencard in the mail while gone? Are you going to mail it to him? *supposedly* an approved interview and adjudication of the I-485 negates the AP/I131 and renders it useless.

I am not trying to worry you unnecessarily, but asking what your status is here just is going to give you educated guesses - the right place to ask is infopass, or at the conclusion of the interview.

Four weeks isn't long at all, considering that most people have to wait several months after the interview. The Infopass appointment may also not be helpful if you're stuck in namecheck. But make it anyway, just in case there's something else holding up your application. And don't think about it too much. You'll be surprised that your approval will come when you're not even thinking about it. Good luck. :)

I know your uncomfortable about him traveling but dont be. The K3 allows the spouse to travel. That is the benefit of the K3 (at least we got something worth while out of this...lol) I hope Faisal has a good time with his family.

That's why this little piece of advice is so great:
