AR 11 Filing

hi everybody,

I just arrived in the US with my visa CR1.

As we have changed our adress I should fill a AR11 form even if it's a temporary adress. ( the officer at the airport told me not to do it : only with my new permanent adress!)

Nevertheless I have a question on this form : what is the A number and where should I find this information, I have nothing on my visa for this. Is it a mandatory information when you fill the AR11?

Thanks for your information.

Regards

Emmanuel

I would file the form, you can do it online now too... specially if you haven't got your green card yet.... I guess it would depend on how temporary the move is...

I think the A-number should be on one of the forms, like a NOA, and it will be on your green card...

the A number is your alien number....

The POE officer said to not report a temp address? I think there is an A number on your visa that was placed in your passport.

I can't believe the poe agent told you not to file. I've filed 4 AR-11's in the past 3 years. I send 2, one to the U.S Department of Homeland Security and the other one to my local office that way I know nobodys going to lose my file.
