hello all ...I know there is enough information on NVC process, i just have few basic question about the initial process.

Any veteran gone through this process , or someone who is going through pls reply.

My I 130 was approved on Sept 21 and notice said it is sent to NVC

1. How will I know when the case number is assigned, do i get a hard copy from NVC or some other way?

2 Will I get the Choice of Agent form with my case number assignment or that is generated after the case number ?

3 I know that 2 Choice of Agent form are sent, one for me and one for my wife, she can send her form appointing me as COA, but do i need to send mine appointing myself , or my copy is only for informational puproses.

More once i get this far smile.gif

thanks in advance

You can call the automated service at 603 334-0700 - Once they have received your application you can use your USCIS number to access your case (follow the voice prompts to do this). It will say something like, we have received your file, your NVC case number is....etc.

If they haven't got your case yet it will say they don't have a record of it, you can then try back in a few days.

This is the same phone number you call if you wish to speak with an operator, press 1 then 5 to go directly to the NVC operator/call center.

2 Will I get the Choice of Agent form with my case number assignment or that is generated after the case number ?

It is generated after your case number.

3 I know that 2 Choice of Agent form are sent, one for me and one for my wife, she can send her form appointing me as COA, but do i need to send mine appointing myself , or my copy is only for informational puproses.

Only 1 needs to be returned.
