K1 VISA & MARRIAGE - 8 MONTHS

17 February 2004 Sent I-129F petition CSC - It was APPROVED in 147 days

3 September 2004 INTERVIEW IN LONDON SUCCESSFUL VISA APPROVED! MARRIED OCTOBER 16, 2004

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS - 5 MONTHS

4 January 2005 - Submitted applications for AOS and EAD - 12 May 2005 Conditional Permanent Residency Approved - interview in Santa Ana

4 June 2005 CPR 2-year Green Card arrives in mail

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS - 3½ MONTHS

8 May 2007 - I-751 sent to CSC - 23 August 2007 - Approved - Card production ordered

30 August 2007 - 10 year Green Card received

K2 TIMELINE (Stayed behind in UK to finish school)

28 March 2005 - embassy interview & medical London - visa granted

01/18/06 Applications for AOS/EAD sent - 03/28/06 EAD approved

4/3/06 - RFE for AOS - requested new medical and vacc supplement

4/26/06 - approved without interview and welcome letter sent

05/02/2006 - Greencard arrives in mail

03/14/08 - Petition to Remove Conditions mailed to CSC delivered - 7/2/08 APPROVED

NATURALIZATION TIMELINE (for myself and son) 5 MONTHS

April 18, 2011 - N-400 Applications Mailed to AZ lockbox

April 21 (received April 25) NOAs

May 12 - FP Letters mailed

May 16 - Received FP appointment letters for June 8 at 11am

August 1 - Interview - approved for Oath Ceremony - OATH CEREMONY 28 SEPTEMBER

Timeline

Not a lot of difficulty in that test, especially as you only have to get 6 out of 10 questions correct. A lot of the information you would need to answer you would get just by watching news and current affairs programs on TV.

how did they get the profile of an average citizenship applicant? My sister was doing the old test few years ago and said it's a pice of cake, so I guess nothing to worry :thumbs: but interesting what they doing there.

11/02/2007 NVC left

11/06/2007 embassy received the petition

11/07/2007 package 3 & 4 sent out

11/08/2007 medical

11/26/2007 INTERVIEW

11/30/2007 US entry POE Washington DC

12/15/2007 Wedding

01/06/2008 AOS filed

01/14/2008 SSN received

01/12/2008 Drivers licens obtained:-)

02/05/2008 biometrics appointement

03/26/2008 approval notice for EAD

03/31/2008 another approval notice for EAD (confused)

04/04/2008 EAD received

04/09/2008 Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident!!!!!!!!! I guess I'll be getting my green card in the mail soon.

04/16/2008 AOS approval notice sent

04/16/2008 Green Card received!!!!!

Can I assume that if my wife gets her interview before October 2008 that she will be taking the old test?

Our timeline:

2002:

July 10th - Sent in I-129f

July 18th - Received 1st NOA (From Texas Service Center)

Sept 10th - Received 2nd NOA

Oct 23rd - Visa Interview

Oct 24th – K1 Visa Received!!

2003:

Jan 26th - She's here!!

Feb 1st - The wedding

Apr 21st – Filed in person I-485 (AOS), I-765 (Employment), I-131 (Travel document), FD-258 (Fingerprint Document)

May 30th– Received letters that the Employment and Travel documents were ready.

Oct. 2nd – Fingerprints were taken

Dec. 10th – Received I-72 (Request for Documents) from local INS center.

Dec. 15th - Mailed requested documents

2004:

Feb. 10th - Adjustment of Status approved!

Feb. 18th - Got temporary green card

April 25th - Received regular green card in the mail.

2005:

Sept. 30th - Bought our first house together!

Oct. 15th - Filed AR-11 and I-865 forms for change of address

Nov. 11th - Sent in I-751 (Lifting of conditional status)

Nov. 25th - Received I-797C, Notice of action, extending GC 12 months. They say processing our form will take a minimum of 120 days

Dec. 14 - Received 2nd notice that permanent status was granted. They requested a visit to our local center.

2006:

Jan. 19 - Went to INS Tampa office. Brought photos and passport as requested as well as acceptance letter. They took her green card and put a stamp in her passport for temporary travel permission until we get the 10yr green card. 3-6 months to receive new card.

Can I assume that if my wife gets her interview before October 2008 that she will be taking the old test?

The way I read the information yes she would, and for the year after the start the applicant can choose the old or new test.
