Bank Ignorance

When my fiancee went to the bank to pay for interview fee the bank teller printed her receipt of payment on a blank DS 157 instead of the copy she brought with her when she told the clerk to reprint it on her copy the clerk said that it was not possible. So should my fiancee fill out that copy instead or just submit it with her already typed copy of DS 157

I did the same. The bank teller gave me a blank validated 157 but since I already have a filled up one ( typewritten) I requested her to validate my copy because I want all my forms uniform, she was kind enough to accomodate me and validated my copy. Until now I still have the validated blank 157. Well, since your fiancee only have the blank validated 157 then better fill up that one since the validated 157 is the one your fiancee will submit during the interview.

They did the same thing to Annie.

If you search the forums, you'll find this is a regular thing, the banks want to use their forms. Ann went ahead and filled out by hand the form they gave her, and then took both the nicely printed ones we had filled out and the copy from the bank to her interview.

I just paid my visa today and I volunteer to them to take my DS 157 but they wont accept it........they just validate it at the back of the form

they told me I can print it by hand.......

you have to fill up the form which the bank validated.

No biggy! Just had my wife type the validated form the bank gave her and make a copy.

Yeah there still are some dinosaur typwriters in PI.

White outs don't matter, Just so USEM gets the $s.

You would think USEM would get their act together and tell the banks it's OK to validate the computer printed forms by now.

I've seen 100s of post relating to the DS 157 and what to do.

Main thing is you have all the info correct on the DS 156.

That's what they use to get your info from the database when you go for the interview.
