change of my name

Hi all, I am a permanent resident (10 year), and under the process of divorcing.

After the divorce will be finalized, I am planning to visit my home country.

However, I am asking to the court to change/restore my maiden name.

Then, my question is,

can I still go through immigration and stuff fine with my old name (married name) on my passport and greencard.

Or I need to change them all before I leave this country?

To file I-90 (renew GC), it seems they are still processing Nov, 2006 cases (NSC), (plus it costs $370 now!!).

I can't wait that long to get a new card before I go back to my country.

Is there anything I can get or what do I need to do?

Thanks.

Yes you may, just bring your final judgment as proof of evidence you had your name restored and other ID's to show the trail.Unless you fly with your old name on both your passport and plane ticket (ID still the same), I don't think there's a problem. If you want to change your name it's up to you..You may file I-90, usually takes around 2-3 months.. In my case, I flew to my country Philippines with my old name on my greencard but my passport and ID's on my new name (since I remarried).I never had a problem coming back. They only scanned my Greencard and stamped my passport.See my I-90 timeline..
