The other day I took the old MB license plates off the truck and put on the ND ones. The hubby and I went to the bank and opened a joint account. Called to get a US internet provider set up here so I can cancel my MTS one. Hubby and I talked about our budget and how I'm going to be eliminated all unnessary expenses I have still in Canada. We have been married almost 2 years and have kept everything separate - me pay my bills in Canada, him pay bills in US. I guess the next thing is to get some health insurance. How ironic that Oprah had Michael Moore on today.

Just starting to feel as this is going to be home from now on in. [tear in my eye] Oh, well... I'm back to work in a month. Back to my Canadian co-workers that will keep me Canadian Roots grounded.

Cheers, yah all! ;)

Yeah that's a weird feeling isnt it ?

I just (finally) advised Quebec's health insurance about my moving. She told me on the phone I had to send back my card :( Then I told her I wanted to keep it cause I don't want to get rid of all my Canadian stuff, she said, well you could already have lost it, but I didn't tell you that ;) lol

But anyways, felt like, alright, my life is completely here now. Im settling good, but still have a pinch from time to time ;)

Yeah I kinda wanted to wait for the AOS, but its been a while and I have no news yet. So since I'm here since April 15th....I didn't want to drag it too much longer! I have my EAD so I figure since I can work and I have my IL Driver license that it was enough of a homey feeling... ;)

You know i was thinking about all this this morning on the walk to work. If it wasn't for the red maple leafs that had fallen off the trees and reminded me that i wasn't "home home", i have all but forgotten many of the "new" things since I got here, it's almost been 8 months for me in the US and I feel settled.

I'm happy about that mind you, i'm not complaining.. there is nothing worse than being in a place when you are longing to be somewhere else. I guess i just waited for homesickness that never came, and waited for a time when i was low about being so far from "home"..

I'm realizing every day how "at home" i am with my husband and my new life. This is where I want to be and I'm so grateful for that!
