victims? illegals don't stop americans from getting jobs, or scare them away 'no no, this job is mineee not yours'..

Yes, they do P. Not only do they take jobs that they aren't entitled to, they reset the pay for that job.

They are scabs to the American workforce.

I think they make worforce more competitive IMO.. last 2 jobs i had, where, everybody's treated like sh!t (food plants), illegal workforce maintained the plants production, and they were paid the same as everyone else.. the average wage for NC rural area 7-8.50 an hour

note: I'm not justifying it!!!! just saying.. and no, NOT ALL AMERICANS are lazy, but I think immigrants (legal or illegal) make the market more competitive

It's essentially supply and demand, Pedroh...and if there were no workers who would tolerate abusive working conditions....the conditions would change or the pay rate would increase.

They are the glass ceiling that keeps the American labor force powerless cos SOMEONE will do the work.

well, at least on the meat packing industry, things haven't change since more than 50 years, way before the illegals arrived.. have you read fast food nation? same stuff that happens now, exploitation for low wages, happened before 1950

I am so sick of the 'oh but it's just as bad anyways' mentality because it ignores really the whole point. 'oh Americans commit crimes too' is the response to the illegal immigrant crime rate...etc etc

I don't care about fast food nation...and I'm really speaking on a whole rather than specifically. The basic premise of supply and demand proves the detriment that is caused by the illegal worker. We can batter this back and forth to page 100...but you actually also made my point for me when you said 'exploitation for low wages'

The illegal worker is exploited....by the employers...and by those bleeding hearts who think that they're being benevolent for wanting them to have the right to work....but really when you think about it...the illegal worker is only so valuable as long as they are exploitable.

So chew on that.

i'm not saying oh is just as bad anyways.. im saying that illegals didn't cause the explotation on certain job markets.. explotation has been there for decades, is just now more emphasized because of the illegal immigration issues.. and yes, I agree, the illegal is valuable as long as they don't complain

I didn't say that they started it, but they're most certainly perpetrating it.

As to the rest...glad we agree

so in essence, what you are saying is the exploitation has been there for decades and the only ones that will put up with it are the illegals, which in turn won't lead to any improvements in that area as they have workers, thereby creating job security for the illegals as americans won't work under those conditions?

no, but rather what LisaD, they perpetrate the low working conditions.. most people have the impression that illegals magically lowered the standards, when it had been happening long time ago.. again, perpetration of such conditions is not good for neither illegals or legal immigrants.. just makes the companies richer, and greedier..
