The socialists on this site amaze me some times! Wait till tents start poppin up in their back yard then we'll see how they react. The love they throw around is worth about as much as a used condom. Speaking of used condoms. It might be a good idea for some to start usin them.

What a confusing post Marc...what do tents and used condoms (which is rather gross, but I'm sure you already know that) have to do with the subject at hand?

And solution short of working with Mexico to improve their economy through Fair Trade, worker's rights, etc. as well as some kind of guest worker program for unskilled laborers is just chasing one's tail.

Spoken like a true global socialist. Mexico's economy is their own fault. They have vast natural resources and the only excuse for their economy is their governments. Our only responsibility it to protect our border, nothing more. I am all for a guest worker program but only after we get all the illegal gate crashers out of here. And I would not be in favor of anyone that came here illegally to get a guest worker visa. They already have shown they don't respect our laws and I see no reason why they should be allowed back in. And amnesty? HELL NO!!

 Gary, I know you like to suggest that I'm a socialist, but please stop. Advocating Fair Trade with Mexico isn't socialism, although subsidizing our own corn is a form of welfare, which I think that you of all people would at least acknowledge should be discontinued. How can you support trade with Mexico when our crop prices our subsidized by the American taxpayer??? And yet you imply I'm a socialist? tsk, tsk.

Uh huh, You grouch about the (IMO appropriate) label of socialist but you don't comment on what I really said. The government of Mexico and of the rest of Latin America is responsible for their own economy, not us. We only need to do what is good for our own country just as every other country in the world does. Why should it be something we need to worry about? The bottom line is this, the gate crashers need to go home and we need to do whatever we need to do to stop more from coming in. I don't care if they are only wanting a better life. That is their countries responsibility, not ours.

Fair for who? Them? We only need to worry whats best for us. If they don't like the deal then they can trade with someone else. It's socialist to hurt our own economy to make their economy better, it's the old "take from the rich and give to the poor" argument.

Farm subsidies are a form of welfare, are they not? So you're advocating government subsidies as long as the beneficiaries are U.S. farms? Who is the socialist here, Gary? You certainly sound like one to me.

Ah, so farm subsidies are the cause of Mexico's problems? Again it's Americas fault. Is that all you do? Blame America? Mexico's economy is Mexico's business. If they don't like the way we do business then they don't have to buy our corn. Stop blaming America for the worlds problems.

 Finally I'm done reading all this. For me this is quite simple:

1. If he takes the money he earned illegally home, it'll make the rest of the people that are here or planning to come here illegally to feel it is ok to do so, because if you get caught you'll be forgiven.

2. Crime is a crime, this is no different than a drug dealer getting caught and wanting to keep the money he earned (by breaking the law), but hey, let's forgive the poor guy, he worked so hard for his money

Why the eye roll? I think I'd consider working as a dishwasher for $5.50/hr hard work.

I didn't say working as a dishwasher for $5.50/hr isn't hard work. The eyes rolling was about letting someone get away from commiting illegal activity using the excuse that they worked hard to do so.

I robbed a bank once, and they actually made me give the money back. Can you believe it?? They wouldnt even let me use it to hire a lawyer.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

It would be interesting to see which senators actually supported the farm subsidies. The other thing is yes how stupid of the American taxpayer to assist American farmers.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Thank You! That is exeactly what it comes down to, We are not responsible for the economic problems of other nations, we should not comprise the

wellbeing, security or futire of our own people only to accomodate gate crashing lawbreaking Illegals.

They need to go back to where they came from and address thier problems within their own Govt.

Their govt. like to facilitate them illegally entering USA so these become USA's problems.

BS! If they want a better life they can go back to where they are from and make it happen. USA should not compromise our standrad of living or

put our own people in worse economical situations just to give an illegal a better Life!

We should take care of the poor in our own country, Health care should be givne to those who are legally here.

Public schools are meant for those who are LEGALLY HERE!
