Original Affidavit?

The Embassy seems to require that my wife have with her the original Affidavit of Support that I had sent a couple months ago to NVC. How can I send the original? I made a photocopy of the one I filled out. The original is now at NVC. Is the photocopy good enough? Please let me know if anyone has the answer. It is listed as one of several so-called original documents needed for the visa apointment. I don't get that. It also doesn't say anything about bringing copies of tax forms. Aren't tax forms a great way to show what my income is?

I photocopied my I-864 and sent the original IRS Transcripts, W2s, Letter of Employment and current (6 months) Paystubs to my husband. I think thats what you need to send to your wife.

You should not have sent the original to the NVC. You should have sent a photocopy and kept the original for your interview.

You will most likely need to get another notarized Affidavit of Support done to take to your interview.

Sept. 2/08... Oath Ceremony

Sept. 5/08... Sent in Voter Registration Card

Sept. 9/08... SSA office to change status to "U.S. citizen"

Oct. 8/08... Applied in person for U.S. Passport

Oct. 22/08... U.S. Passport received

DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!!

Apr. 6/05... DS-230, Part I faxed to Vancouver Consulate

May 26/05... K-2 Interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sept. 5/05... Entered U.S.

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony
