But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

As usual they took it out of context and out right lie. Rush wasn't talking about any soldier that opposed the war, he was talking about ONE soldier. Here is the comment in context.

RUSH: It's not possible intellectually to follow these people.

CALLER: No, it's not. And what's really funny is they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and spout to the media.

RUSH: The phony soldiers.

CALLER: The phony soldiers. If you talk to any real soldier and they're proud to serve, they want to be over in Iraq, they understand their sacrifice and they're willing to sacrifice for the country.

RUSH: They joined to be in Iraq.

RUSH: It's frustrating and maddening, and why they must be kept in the minority. I want to thank you, Mike, for calling. I appreciate it very much.

Here is a Morning Update that we did recently, talking about fake soldiers. This is a story of who the left props up as heroes. They have their celebrities and one of them was Army Ranger Jesse MacBeth. Now, he was a "corporal." I say in quotes. Twenty-three years old. What made Jesse MacBeth a hero to the anti-war crowd wasn't his Purple Heart; it wasn't his being affiliated with post-traumatic stress disorder from tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. No. What made Jesse MacBeth, Army Ranger, a hero to the left was his courage, in their view, off the battlefield, without regard to consequences. He told the world the abuses he had witnessed in Iraq, American soldiers killing unarmed civilians, hundreds of men, women, even children. In one gruesome account, translated into Arabic and spread widely across the Internet, Army Ranger Jesse MacBeth describes the horrors this way: "We would burn their bodies. We would hang their bodies from the rafters in the mosque."

Now, recently, Jesse MacBeth, poster boy for the anti-war left, had his day in court. And you know what? He was sentenced to five months in jail and three years probation for falsifying a Department of Veterans Affairs claim and his Army discharge record. He was in the Army. Jesse MacBeth was in the Army, folks, briefly. Forty-four days before he washed out of boot camp. Jesse MacBeth isn't an Army Ranger, never was. He isn't a corporal, never was. He never won the Purple Heart, and he was never in combat to witness the horrors he claimed to have seen. You probably haven't even heard about this. And, if you have, you haven't heard much about it. This doesn't fit the narrative and the template in the Drive-By Media and the Democrat Party as to who is a genuine war hero. Don't look for any retractions, by the way. Not from the anti-war left, the anti-military Drive-By Media, or the Arabic websites that spread Jesse MacBeth's lies about our troops, because the truth for the left is fiction that serves their purpose. They have to lie about such atrocities because they can't find any that fit the template of the way they see the US military. In other words, for the American anti-war left, the greatest inconvenience they face is the truth.

You would think if you are perpetuating a lie or saying stuff of that nature the people using you as an example would put just a tiny bit of effort into checking the background and story.

That said, Rush is still a loudmouth and a hypocrite. He's the one that talks about drug using dirt bags, but he's grinding oxycontin and snorting it, while taking a ton of other opiates.

Doesn't matter if you are a bleeding heart liberal or a bible thumping conservative. The major problems with this country and our two party system is the extreme whackos of both extremes ruin it for everyone else.

How about it Steven? Where is your outrage that you were lied to by MediaMatters.com? Where is your outrage that you were duped?

 Gary, I think the point is crystal clear...the outrage by the Republicans in Washington over the MoveOn.org Ad was disingenuous, as Bill Clinton put it. It's not one single, 'Aha, I caught you' incident. Like Clinton brought up - one of the Republicans who voiced outrage over the ad is the same guy who beat out Max Cleland with ads that put Max's face with Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Being selective with outrage just makes the Republicans look like hypocritical baffoons and it's going to end up backfiring for them at the voting booth.

Look, the sooner you figure out that all of this is just dirty politics, back and forth, the sooner we can focus on what really matters. Let free speech be just that and save your outrage for something other than dirty politics. ;)

There it goes again. Where in the world do you get that? He was addicted to oxycontin because of a back problem. It was never reported that he was snorting it while doing other opiates. The smear campaign on Rush is breathtaking. It just shows how much he pisses off the left and how much they fear him.

It wasn't disingenuous for me. I found it truly insulting. So did a lot of other people. Just because those on the left were not insulted or outraged does not mean it wasn't insulting to others.

But you are sure backpeddling now. You were calling for "outrage" over a false story and now you just pass it off as another example of dirty politics.

Not sure how he abused the pills, but if Rush were to follow his own advice he should have gone to prison along with all the other junkies. Guy is a hypocrite and actually since the drug stuff came out I have not heard much about him until now.

Ok, so where was the condemnation for the dirty political ad aimed at a war veteran who lost both legs in Vietnam? Don't you feel that was insulting to the man's service to his country? Come on, Gary, stop pretending that dirty politics doesn't exist on both sides of the political spectrum. Condemn all of it or don't condemn any of it.

Then by your standards half of Hollywood should be in jail. Talk about disingenuous outrage.

I don't like it when anyone does it. But the left seems to like to castigate the military for their own political ends.
