but i saw recently on forum - somebody got paper approval letter - while online status didn't change and was still "pending"

here it is:

Yes! After checking the status of my case online about four times a day since my biometrics appointment, I came home today to find an approval letter in the mail. At first I thought it was an RFE since the status was "received petition to remove...." when I left work (and still is), but it's the real deal!

Anyone else had this happen? Received approval letter while case still pending online that is...

My PAST Timelines:

10/2004 - Conditional GC

08/2006 - 10/2007 - Lifting Conditions timeline

10/2007 - 6/26/2009 Citizenship, Los Angeles DO timeline

06/30/09 - delivered

07/06/09 - NOA date (rec'd - 07/10) #WAC 09xxx3, touched.

07/08/09 - check cashed, #WAC 09xxx2 (not online)

08/29/09 - APPROVED!!!

NVC

09/14/09 - NVC case # assigned, emails registered

09/17/09 - email AOS bill received and paid online, ds3032 received and returned

09/21/09 - AOS bill status "PAID", FedExed out AOS, 09/24/09 delivered to NVC

09/28/09 - AVR:AOS acknowledged

10/02/09 - 3032 was acknol. by NVC, paid IV Bill online

10/05/09 - emails: 1 pm -RFE for 3032, 3 pm - IV bill, 5 pm - status PAID

10/09/09 - ds230 delivered to NVC at 9am

10/14/09 - AVR: Checklist response was received

10/20/09 - login failed! - between 5 pm and 9 pm PST, at 5 pm it was still working

10/21/09 - case complete! (AVR updated after 10 pm) = total NVC 37 days

10/28/09 - interview date email came at 6.30 pm, no AVR changes yet

10/30/09 - AVR: "Case sent to embassy on Oct 29" = total 4 months from delivery of i130 to USCIS

11/02/09 - Medical

11/20/09 - Interview - PASSED!!!

11/28 - POE: LAX

just got SMS and e-mail 7 am this morning!!! after almost a month since Biometrics and 1,5 months since RFE

(when do they come to work at Laguna Niguel - 6 am????)

case updated online as of Oct 24:

hmm.... usually the case status changes before they send the card... I wonder where the officer supposedly saw that your case was approved... does he not have access to the very same information? I don't want to destroy your hopes, but if I had to guess I would say he just told you're approved to get rid of you.

Anyway, I keep my fingers crossed for you that you get your card soon. All the best! :)

but i saw recently on forum - somebody got paper approval letter - while online status didn't change and was still "pending"

and i did biometrics a months after Aug 24, and online case shows no touch, even if it usually does for other people - and it did for me too - after first biometrics in Aug 4, it was touched 3-4 times, like Aug 6, Aug 7, and last was Aug 13 when RFE was sent, but ever since address change - online updates are stuck even if they are working on my case since they sent me biometrics.

i was trying to explain this to officer, but he got all defensive and irritated even if i emphasized many times, that i was sure that it's an error somewhere in computer and i wasnt blaming him or anything like that.

My bio was scheduled on 11/02/2007, but i went ahead and did a walk in at San Francisco ASC.

Do you guys think that it maight delay the prosses in any way?

Csc recieved on 09/18/2007

Got the NO1 on 10/14/2007

Got the NO2 For bio on 10/18/2007

Bio scheduled on 11/02/2007, but did a walk in on 10/23/2007

Online status in pending.

I tried a walkin yesterday but was told to come back on my appointment date.

I think this will speed up your process and not delay it. Glad you were able to get in.

Sept 10, 2001... Arrived in US (J1)

Sept 2002... AOS (J1 to F1)

March 2003...AOS Approved

May 2003... Flew to SA. Reapplied for F1. RFE and Finally Approved. 2 year F1 visa in Passport.

Jan 21 2004... Married in Chicago

Aug 2004... Applied for AOS, Petition for spouse and EAD

Feb 2005... Joshua, our little cutie pie is born on SuperBowl Sunday

May 2005... EAD Approved

Dec 17 2005... AOS & Petition approved (2 year green-card received)

Aug 4 2007... Mailed in I-751 = $275 (remove conditions)

Aug 31 2007... Everything returned, filed too early, wrong fee

Sept 17 2007 Refiled to NSC

Sept 18 2007... Delivered by DHL to NSC

Oct 10 2007... Received at CSC

Oct 15 2007... Check cashed, transfered to CSC

Oct 15 2007... Received 1st notice with application number and 1 year extension. Notice Dated 9/19/07

Nov 1 2007... tried walk-in biometrics, refused

Nov 8 2007...Biometrics completed. Staff at Naperville ASC were great!

Nov 9 2007... Last touch

March 7 2008... Card production ordered!!!!!!!! 5 months, 2 weeks and 5 days

March 12 2008... Case Status: Approval notice sent

March 15 2008...Green card received in mail...so done with USCIS done for a few years!!!!!! :)

Yes i did it yesterday without any problems. The officer at the front desk was very nice and didn't ask me any questions. You just take the number and wait. The whole thing took about 20-30 minutes.

I heard that they accept walk ins on Wednesday, but still went ahead and tried on Tuesday :)) To be hones i just couldn't wait anymore.

Didn't you send them those evidance that you listed on the first place? Why would they ask for it again in RFE?

i did but it was 1 year ago, so i think they wanted to make sure marriage still exist. Good luck!
