My husband has had is interview on August 7, 2007. He was told he would receive his visa after he submits a letter of clearance from Jordanian police. He submitted that and was then asked for his passport. Then he was asked two weeks later for his first passport. He received a letter on Sept 23 asking for his passport again just to receive it Sept 25 with a letter saying that his case still needs administrative processing and this is an additional 3 months. Has anyone experienced the same thing and if so what was the outcome and how long did it take?

Sounds like a familiar tune with Amman lately. Our interview was on July 23, 07, and we are still waiting for his AP to be finished. They say it takes 3 months, and DOS will tell you that the security checks can take from 3 months to a year.

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

Well I hope you don't have to wait too much longer. It's a good sign that they asked for his passport. I hope that is a speedy AP for you both!

My husband interviewd in July. He was told he needed original papers as well as a court paper stating he had full custody of his daughter.

We did all that and returned all papers with the passports.

They contacted us and said they will not accept the police report from Yemen as it wasnt formatted correctly.. after a few emails they accepted it.

They then contacted us telling us they wanted a noterized paper from the mother of his daughter that he was allowed to take her out of the country. We couldnt get that as the div papers and court papers stated it was an abandonment issue and she wasnt even in the country anymore...

After a few emails, that was accepted.

They said we were in admistrative procedures... which I took to mean and they sorta said paperwork to complete the whole visa thing as they said as soon as it was done our visa would be done.

I was excited and we waited. a week, two finally they returned his passport... without explanation.

When I wrote them they said they are still processing it and I said what exactly are you doing?????????? Name check which takes 2-3 months..

I called DS and the woman there said oh no avg is 4 mo but she has had run acrosss a case today of TWO YRS....

so my husband said (*&%^%$%$ he had a job offer in SA

I asked him to turn it down, jordan wasnt bad but SA?

So I am giving it till Jan or Feb.. that point our house goes up and I go to my husband.

Hello Huda. I am glad to let you know that my husband experienced the same thing. He had his interview on August 7, 2007 and then his case was put on AP. On Sept. 23, 2007 they asked for his passport to just return it two days later telling him that it needs futher AP and that will be an additional 3 months. On October 1, 2007 he was issued his visa and he entered the US on October 15, 2007. I just wish you and your husband the best of luck and I will keep you in my prayers. Just dont give up the faith. Insha'allah he will be given his visa soon. If you would like I will be glad to give you my email address and we can talk. Take care. Your friend Becky
