Hi

Yesterday we had out AOS interview and was approved. I was expecting to be stuck in namecheck so really wasn’t expecting a final approval as its only been 5 months since we started the process i also came on VWP. Anyway i just wanted to share my interview experience.

Our interview was in Miami, FL - we were called in 10mins after our set appointment. The IO didn’t really ask many questions apart from the usual such as "show passport, birth certificate etc...then after the formalities the IO simple asked to provide any copies proving bonafide marriage. No intimidating or personal questions . Overall the IO was pleasant but professional seemed to mellow out once we showed our stuff including our wedding album which the IO didn’t ask for we just gave as we were searching for our birth certificate and didn’t want the IO to feel bored haha. The interview lasted about 10 mins . In the evening I received an email Welcoming me as a resident :)

I’m grateful i wasn’t stuck in Namecheck and relived its all over. Although i accept that many others are still waiting and have been waiting much longer then me. My next step is to remove the conditions in just over a years time. I have been a silence observer of this board for the last few months nad have learnt a lot , I wish all of you the best of luck in your greencard ‘venture’ and hope you all also have an happy ending.

Hi Nicky44

Yeah we married within a month but we were living together in England prior to coming over here, so when the IO asked how long we had known each other (which has been several years) and then we already lived together back in UK they knew we were a genuine copule and no questions were asked and we were not asked about intent , However, if they did ask i had return tickets for both of us to prove we did infact intend to return back to UK (as we never intended to stay here when we arrived). So if you came on VWP i wouldnt worry too much as even our lawyer said they probably wouldnt even bring 'intent' up.

Anyway congratulations!!! you can now have a break for a while from this process. Hey what part of the UK do you come from, I lived in Surrey, just wondered if we might be neighbours LOL!!!

Hi Nicky im from Birmingham not too far from Surrey lol .. good luck for ur interview in 3 weeks it will be fine im sure. If u have any evidence that ur hubby lived with u in England then bring that along too although they never asked for any evidence for us its always a good idea to be prepared:) im sure though once u tell the IO u have lived together before coming here the whole atmosphere in the room will be more relaxed as they are more interested in fraudulent marriages then anything else. So its not like u jumped of the plane and married the first yank u could find lol
