I agree, for the first time we got a realistic and sensable answer from them. For that I give them props. It's just the Cindy Sheehans of the world are having fits right now because of it. It goes back to my original point. The dems have themselves painted into a corner here. They all ran on a platform of "get out of Iraq" and "set a date certain" in 2006 and now that they are forced to put up or shut up they must either lie or alienate the far left. At least they are telling the truth now.

True... but we should have never been here in the first place. And you seem to be refocusing the point that Bush lied to us, point blank and expected us to believe it. "I did not have sex with that woman" starts to sound an awful lot like "The liberation of Iraq is a crucial advance in the campaign against terror" but Billy boy did not kill anyone in the name of gettin' his rocks off.

Now we are stuck in the muck of war. A war very similar to Vietnam. As long as we refuse to fight on their level, we will not win. The enemy is willing to do things that we are not and that makes this a fight that we cannot win. This is not defeatist, it is simple logic. You want to win this war? Fight to win. If you are not willing to do that, get the hell out and do it fast.

To win this war we will have to abandon our puritan sensibilities and the next time a suicide bomber blows up a group of people, grab the first 50 or so civilians you can find and execute them. Right then and there. Do that everytime there is a bombing and the bombing will stop, or you will run out of people. Fight fire with fire, not with words and finger pointing.

Guerilla warfare is very difficult if not impossible to fight in a civilized manor. That is the fact. If we are going to get our panties in a wad because we bomb a hospital with an anti-aircraft gun on top so be it. But get ready for the long fight because we are going nowhere in a big hurry. WAR IS NOT CIVILIZED!!!

I already regret writing this but will post it anyway as one man's thoughts (opinion) on this horrible situation. I will not argue the point. I will not defend it. I have said what I have to say on the subject. Take it or leave it as you see fit. In case any one is wondering, I am a verteran of Urgent Fury, Just Cause, Desert Shield/Storm. I have been involved with numerous other "events" and was stationed my entire career at Hurlburt Field, FL. If you know anything about the Air Force then you know I have been around a little.

Correction. Some of us were never 'for it', and didn't buy the guff that our leaders tried to sell us. What was hindsight for a few, was foresight for many.
