But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I've been wanting to try smoking a pipe (regular tobacco), but the pipes are so bloody expensive and I'm not sure if I'd actually like it. I love the smell of the tobacco though.

Oh, and I'm doing this while dieting  So I'm gonna be one of the few to quit smoking AND lose weight.

Oh jeez what am I doing?!?!

Well, you're in good company, then.

I'm quitting...again. I was good for a month and then I started up again. Not nearly to the point that I was, but still smoking, none the less.

So, I'm quitting again. Since I'm really into cycling again, it's kind of mandatory that I not be a smoking cyclist. Climbing hills with a smoke in your mouth doesn't work out so well.

Also, I'm tired of being a lard butt. So, I've been dieting the past week or two. Not really dieting...."lifestyle change". I'm starting with a target of 2000 calories/day. On the days when I do the "long" ride (about 20 miles), I allegedly burn 2800 calories. Should be all good. I'll cut it down to 1750 or 1500 calories later. Too much too fast and Larry passes out. (Happened a week ago).

We'll be "Stop Smoking/Dieting Buddies", L. I kick your ### if you cheat, and you kick mine if I do. And I'll KNOW about those Flakes and HobNobs, so don't even think of cheating there, either!

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Thanks everyone!

Well it's been a whole 12 hours and 6 mins, lolz.

But I do MUCH of my smoking in the am...so I'm taking one victory at a time.

I did have an emotional mini-meltdown earlier, but that seems to have subsided.

I keep reading this thread and you guys are giving me the strength to keep it up....so thanks from the bottom of my heart!! (L)

I haven't eaten solid food for like 6 days now, hahahaa.

Congrats on the life change, Larry.....it's a hard step, but we'll do it one at a time, eh?

 Good luck! I've quit smoking a little over 3 years ago. The first days and weeks are the toughest. But it gets easier after a while.

Be strong! You can do it!

Just remember that you're not really 'giving up' the ciggies, you're GAINING control back.

I 'took control' over the darn little cancer sticks a few weeks ago and I'm rootin' for ya all the way!
