Good Luck Lisa

I've tried to quit 5 times so far, i tried the patches....they didn't work, hell i was even smoking and wearing a patch at the same time, talk about nicotine overdose lol...... maybe i should try something else next time!

Maybe talk to your doc about that pill Gary was on about...

I know he went through a hellacious time quitting until he was put on that pill.

And you know what? I'm tired of being a slave to the fricken tobacco industry. I'm tired of gettin in my car at midnight in my jammies to drive across town to the drive thru cos I forgot to buy cigs. And I'm tired of smellin like smoke, I'm tired of standing outside in the rain to smoke, I'm tired of lightin up snideys out of the ashtray when I'm stuck with none (disgusting, I know)....I'm just tired of it all.

Saying that, I should go smoke my last cig, hahahahaha. Jeez, I'm such a flippin addict.

Good Luck Lisa

I quit smoking 7 weeks ago. I was always a light smoker (5-6 a day...). You wouldn't believe the yuckness I coughed out when I quit (gross, I know! but I had no idea I had that stuffed up in my lungs!) :dead:

Once I realized the damage I was doing to myself with only a few cigarettes...It's been easy staying smoke free.

Saludos,

Caro

You will get there Lisa. I quit a dozen times before it finally stuck. But as long as you keep trying you will finally get there. I have no trouble not smoking at home, it's only at work I have a problem. Our state just passed a law that bans smoking at work so I guess on Jan 1 that temptation will be removed. Keep at it and good luck!!

Ok peeps...here we go! 11:58 and I am a non smoker.

I thought to myself while I was smoking: innit funny how I smoke outside cos I don't want to get my house all manky, yet I willingly put that sh!t in my lungs.

Thanks for all the support, guys...it really means a lot to me. I'm actually a bit scared for some reason. Eye on the prize time, eh?

Best of luck to you. Remember it is a super strong addiction and you will be going through withdrawal, may have mood swings, and will totally feel like #######.

However in 30 days or so you will be able to smell things again, taste better, and can start to feel better too.

It's really hard to quit. I've seen people quit cold turkey, use the patch, gum, anti-depressants. You really have to want to quit and be willing to suffer through it.

Hey Lisa...just wanted to wish you the best of luck! I quit about a year and 1/2 ago. Every so often I get the urge to smoke..typically it is when I am drinking with all my old buddies from college. But I can honestly say I feel much better now that I quit. I don't drink as much...but that is alright too.....

I also quit cold turkey..no meds or anything. The patch freaked me out for some reason...Chewed the gum once.

So anyway best of luck...it is totally worth it!
