I am no expert but she did sound very mentally ill in the story you told. Some people do have bad mental problems and will go off about things like that. I have known someone that when they were going through an "episode" of craziness would spew the weirdest/agriest things. The next day they'd be normal. They can't control how they behave sometimes, and really need mental care/medication. I think it's beyond bitterness, and really mental.

Try to just think they were crazy, not normal, and that was a rare thing to happen. I hope you are doing ok! No matter why the lady said such things, it would be traumatic to experience it.

Now Luz is all scared about going out. She used to take a morning walk to the church and had made friends along her path. I am trying to impress upon her that this lunatic was an aberration and not the normal kind of people you meet. Robin was so angry, he is very protective of his mother. This b!tch has made Luz and Robin think that they are not safe now and I am very upset that this person has caused them so much pain.

I am so sorry you and Robin had to experience this. It is not normal or usual and would be very frightening to anyone. How horrible it must have been for you. I guess the other thing to think about is how horrible that other lady must feel to have such hatred inside of her. You have a wonderful husband and loving son and a safe home - where she gets to live over and over with her hatred. There was nothing you could do to stop her attack - I just hope you realize that this is not a normal thing and won't let it hold you back as you adjust to your new home. It may be worth it, however, to send a letter to the local police advising them of her behaviour and her appearance. If she has assaulted you like that she may assault others as well, and you are right - you don't know what she was reaching for in her purse. They need to know that she is out there and a potential risk for verbal and potential physical assault on others.

Every women I have observed at walmart has smiled at my wife when she is shopping. Never have we encountered an episode like that. Very sorry to hear what happened to you and your daughter. .
