Police cert?

Hi everyone! I would like to ask about the police cert...and I am asking for my cousin...

Her husband lived in 3 other cities in the philippines aside from his present address. Does he need to acquire police cert from each of the city or will an NBI clearance generally cover it all?They are currently on the DS230 stage at NVC.

Pls I need ur inputs/help...I hope to hear from u guyz!

If it is for the DS230, there are a couple of key factors to consider

(1) you lived in a city for at least 6 months

(2) you have to enumerate all the addresses since you reach the age of 16. Make sure no gaps

Yes, you need to provide Police Certificate AND NBI Clearance. If he lived, let's say in Batangas, Davao and Quezon City for at least 6 months, then you will need 3 different Police Certificates from the localities, but only 1 NBI Clearance Certificate.

Do you have to have police clearance from each city!!??? Are you serious??

the Philippines are able to supply local and national police records. Unfortunately, we have to obtain both as requirement by US consulate in Manila. You have to check your country of consulate to make sure.

HUH? I don't think so!

I only got an NBI clearance. I lived in 1 city (my hometown) before I lived here in Manila. I didn't get police certificate anymore.

Since the husband lived in 3 other cities INSIDE the Philippines, no need to get separate police certificates. That only applies if he lived outside the Phils for more than 6 mos. The NBI clearance is nationwide so he would only need to get an NBI

I didnt get any local police clearance/s nor barangay clearance, what i had is my NBI and other police clearance (foreign/abroad) since i worked 5 years outside our country.

i guess they are a bit more strict when it comes to CR1 visas......since she mentioned above that theyre on their DS230... i guess they're doing the CR1 visa...

lets try to hear it from those who processed CR1's...

what do u think?

Yes thats right. It is for the DS230, I am not sure with the K3 visas but CR1/IR1 are asked to obtain from both Police Clearance from local precincts and NBI Clearance.

i guess they are a bit more strict when it comes to CR1 visas... lets try to hear it from those who processed CR1's

I'm on CR-1 visa and I provided Police Certificates from places I lived for more than 6 months (in the Philippines) since I was 16 years of age (as per instructions on the packet) and this includes Olongapo City and San Pedro, Laguna and I also submitted an NBI clearance.

Jane, my friend and also a member here and she's on IR-1 visa => had an RFE (for 2 weeks) because of discrepancy with places she lived in Manila and she had to provide additional Police Certificates (Pasay City) aside from the fact that she also submitted her NBI clearance with the DS-230.

It is not that hard to get Police Certificates and if you have time to get one to submit with your DS-230, then it will be better and hopefully prevent being placed on RFE because of discrepancies or missing documents.

Rodgiegirl => I'm not sure about your Country's requirements, but NBI is National Bureau of Investigations here in the Philippines.
