I miss MercuryRoad. Yodrak, too.

It's a shame Yodrak felt that he had to leave after being assaulted for his comment. Maybe it'll teach some people here not to jump all over others for a single comment.

Probably not.

well i took great offense to the comment when it was made. i also didn't like it when he kept bringing it up. a simple "hey, sorry maybe i worded that wrong " would have defused it. but, that wasn't the case.

Actually the reason I mentioned that this thread will be locked if it turns into a "Bash VJ" thread is because we have seen it so many times.

Because the users cannot discuss the very site they participate in! Hence the ssue is never settled. Or questions answered.

Mags, I KNEW it! LOL

And this site helped me every step of the way through my CR1 visa process...and we sailed through without a mistake...so YES it does promote self help, and AGAIN, if it's sooo bad why trouble yourself to post here?????

"We are the real countries,

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."

If every piece of immigration info on VJ is so bad, why are there still so many people getting their petitions and visas approved after getting/finding info here?

We are in the process of lifting hubby's conditions. Lots of helpful info and people over in that subforum. So Vj is still helping many people.

While I agree that some threads on the state of VJ have deteriorated and needed to be closed, now its as if ANY discussion about such things are immediately called 'bash VJ' threads.

Why have a 'site discussions' forum if the site (and its issues) can't be discussed?

If every piece of immigration info on VJ is so bad,

Who said it was?

Ok, I admit "every" was an exaggeration. But by reading Devil's Advocate's posts you'd think no one ever got anything useful out of VJ, as it's coming to it's "demise" and all.

Well, I still enjoy VJ immensely. I think we have some fabulous members here who have a wealth of knowledge at their fingertips. Rather than looking at the bad side of VJ all the time I think we should look at the good side.

I know that without VJ my journey would have been much harder, I know that without VJ I wouldn't have met some wonderful people, and I know that without VJ I wouldn't have been able to have had a laugh on the days when the journey seemed arduous and excessively cruel.

So, VJ, I'm rather fond of ya. :luv:

I agree, Mags. I just wish we could figure out how to keep long standing members who've dedicated relentlessly to helping others, from leaving. There's got to be a way...I hope.

(I hope that sentence makes sense)

It did. ;)

I do know for a fact that some of the old members here have started anew with new accounts as they don't wish to be associated with their old names. As to the others; people just leave for a variety of reasons. It could be because they have a busy RL, maybe they get annoyed with forums, have a falling out etc etc

The oldies leave but they do get replaced, the shoes get filled as more of the "newer" members learn more about the visa process and go through it themselves. Today's newbie is tomorrow's knowledgeable oldie.
