I know theres loads of people on here with bigger problems who have been waiting a hell of a lot longer than me,

so I dont intend to offend, but Im going beeping mad now...

If I don't start working or doing something soon, my brain cells will turn to Jello...

I know its got bad now as Ive started enjoying Jerry Springer, Ive started to think that Dr Phil has good points and

spending far too many hours on Google images, looking for cute Shih-Tsu wallpaper.

How the doley's of England cope with this, I dunno..

Heres to everyones quick approvals!!!..pleeeeaasseeeeeeeeeee

Im going slightly mad, ha he ha ha...

Of course, this desire to work, is rather worrying and makes me contemplate the fact that I haven't got much going on upstairs. I have hours and days and weeks to think about that one.

I still can't get online case status info for my EAD, so I don't even have the luxury of checking that every 8 minutes

to see if anyone glanced at it whilst on their way to the loo.

ho hum...

Hi Chloe,

Yes, it is very frustrating being on hold like this. One suggestion while you wait for your EAD is to investigate potential employers who you would like to work for, or get an idea of the local job market in your field, so that when you EAD arrives you can get the ball rolling quickly. Secondly, you may wish to look into doing some sort of volunteer activity while you wait. You can volunteer at any legitimate volunteer opportunity where someone would not normally be paid for doing that activity. Sometimes when you have to wait on someone else it helps to do what you can within the parameters of your situation.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

It takes around 90 days. I'm part of the July filers and on average the EAD has been approved around 70 days from the time it was received in Chicago which really isn't bad.

Look for work and volunteer. Volunteering is legak and it can be a good way to find a job as well. This is a great site for it: http://www.volunteermatch.org/

You can also join in associations around your area, it's a good way to be involved.

Dont't worry it shouldn't take too long.

And remember that if you don't hear anything withing 90 days you can call or best make an infopass appointment and the local office will inquire about your case and usually get it moving.

Thanks peeps!!

Even though my case was received on July 24th, they told me that processing started on the 8th of August, so my 90 day mark is in November.. not long I guess.

Will look into volunteering, thanks. I also need to get together a resume, start losing the hefty mass my thighs have

gathered since arriving and stop using the internet so much..lol

good luck with your approvals!!!
