I am guilty of this myself, but I think it is a good Idea.

Is there a way to close a a topic if it has not been commented on in say, 90 days.

I see a thread pop up every once in a while that is a year old and members are commenting like it is a new thing.

If the thread were closed the relevant information is still there and searchable, but unable to be commented on unless someone either re-opens the thread or they cut and paste and start a new topic.

It just a thought, what do you think?

I've seen Mags do this once or twice - close the topic, that is. I accidentally dragged up old topics when I was new (clicking on related posts or not realizing how far back my search went...)

I think it's a great idea - really no point to allow the "good luck tell us what happens!" stuff (which is usually what it is) when the post is a year old and the OP hasn't been around for 6 mos.

i think bringing up old topics is ok if they are still relevant...

i guess I am thinking of posts in the OT.... sometimes posts are dragged up that I missed the first time around ... or the posts still have relevant information etc...

I think Topics/Threads should die of their own volition - if they get picked up again after being dormant, then so be it...

No, I get it. It doesn't make sense.

Old jokes, current event stories & games are hardly relevant a year + later.

maybe not relevant or enjoyed by some people.... but other people do enjoy playing the old games or reading the jokes.. jokes , don't get old

i do agree on the current event stories though...

I didn't say that all posts are ok to be bumped to the top i said ones that are still can be current or relevant to today....

I agree w/ Lisa - and a lot of the bumped stuff isn't even relevent, it's like "oh gee, that sucks, keep us updated!'

Yeah..okayyyyy. That's not useful.
