I'm asking this because I've read a lot of threads about people whose spouses have been denied, or are having SERIOUS trouble with their AOS, etc.

If my husband had been denied a K1 visa or AOS we'd probably fight it. But if it turned out bad like many cases I read on VJ, then I'd move to Brazil in a heartbeat. Am I the only one?

Charles wouldn't move to Brazil for many reasons, mostly financial, he doesn't speak a word in portuguese, etc. But we never had to worry about that, we never considered that an option. The reasons for deny are very clear, I didn't have any disease, never had any problems with the law, never came to the States illegally or overstayed, we could prove our relationship as legit, etc etc etc.

I won't vote cuz he probably will and we don't need double votes, but the answer is no.

In a heartbeat!!!!

I read a post about a couple that broke up after spending two years in the process because it wasn't going to go through. It seems odd to me, like maybe they really weren't in love and committed to eachother. I would NOT break up with my sweetie because USCIS is slow. No way!!! No how!!! He's stuck with me for the rest of his life!!! :P

Now, realistically, I would have an incredibly difficult adjustment period living permanently in a developing country because I'm a spoiled american princess. But I'd adjust to a new way of life. And frankly when we talked about it, if I lived there, I wouldn't have to work. I could be a SAHM. So, I do pay for the spoiled american princess way of life.

Yep, me too! If my Kole couldn't be with me, I'd pack up and move as soon as I was able to settle some things here. We are planning on moving there later in life and while I am very spoiled and love the luxuries here in the U.S. I would do what was necessary to be with my loved one; even if it meant giving up all of the wonderful things that we have in America, like hot running water and food that I can actually properly digest... you can only eat so much fried chicken and rice... and after spending time in a place that doesn't have those things, you start to appreciate them alot more!

I have finally met my love and my best friend... I can't thank God enough for this gift! After spending 17 days in Ghana with my love, I am even more consumed by him and all that he is.

Wait, maybe that's another option in this poll. Sorry Cassi, not that we're all gonna move in with you and hubby...but rather both immigrate to somewhere else. It's an idea anyway. My Bassi would laugh in my face if I suggested that cause he's about family. So it's either mine or his. I get priority cause I'm the woman. (I take it where I get okay?) But for some people, I bet it would be an option to move somewhere immigrant friendly like Canada or Switzerland or something like that. The Netherlands takes a lot of people too, don't they.

Due to the circumstances I would not move to his country. Mainly because I have kids and could not just up and move like that, their father wouldn't agree. Also, I can not see myself living in a third world country. If my fiance lived in another country that wasn't that far from here such as Canada, then that might be an option.

In a heartbeat.

I have been a global traveller all my life and since all of my family lives in Ghana (except for my sisters, parents and I) I would be fine with that. It is my home after all. I never wanted to really stay here anyways and we already have plans on settling there.

I miss my home.
