Hi everyone, we have been waiting for NOA1 (and NOA2) for about 95 days. So just wondering if we are the only ones or not. CSC said it was caused by a problem in their system. We will probly try to get it by sending a service request.

Hey, your not alone. I filed my K-1 in May the 21st to be exact. and I just got my hard copy Noa1 on the 6th. So call them and remind them that they haven't sent it. I had to get a refrence number before they actually sent mine out to me. But apparently people say that you don't even really need a hard copy of the Noa1, but it helps with the anxiety. Good luck!! God bless you!

Did you pay by check and if so, was it cashed? Sometimes you can find your receipt number on the back fo the cancelled check.

Sorry to tell you this, but anytime it is over 90 days, do not hesitate to do this, call your US Senators office(local if you have one or email them or go see them in person preferably) and US Rep office. Ask for filing a Congressional inquiry, they will know exactly what you are talking about once you explain to them what is happening to you, they are used to this, and believe me CSC has about 48 hours or less to respond to that Congressional inquiry once it hits their office, and rest assured you will be amazed at how fast things do start to move and mysteriously happen. Just do not waste your time calling USCIS or filing service request with them, you will only become more frustrated and waste more valuable time. Best of luck.

Jeez.

Call your congressman because you don't have NOA1?

If you can tell that your case is in the system, that's all you need to know. You will never need the NOA1 document for anything further in the process. It's a damn payment receipt and nothing more.

The NOA1 is ONLY a receipt showing you that USCIS has received your package. It is NOT needed at any point in this process. The ONLY thing needed is the NOA2. If you sent it by priority mail and a signature was needed (and if you tracked it) then you'd know it was received. There is no way I would call a congressperson and take up their time to inquire about a receipt. If the OP already knows their case is in the system, then I'm not quite sure what the issue is. One can usually find the case number on the back of the cancelled check providing that's the way payment was made. I just don't get the reason why so many people are freaking out about NOA1s.

Our filing time is similar to yours. We filed at Nebraska, then it was forwarded to California. We have not received NOA1 hardcopy yet. But, you can find your NOA1 date when you register at the USCIS website. It is the date that they received your paperwork. Their website is at: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/logon.do Just click register as a customer...Good Luck!!!

There are, however, submitters who paid with a money order or some other non-trackable payment. Not saying this is something you need to get your Senator involved with but if you don't receive your NOA1 and you paid with a money order, it's not easy to get your case number. It's unfortunate that USCIS doesn't have a better way to get information about peoples' cases out to them.

Well you received your NOA2 less then 3 months after you received your NOA1. So you didn´t have time to freak out maybe? ;)

It certainly isn't something to freak out about though. IF you called the USCIS and spoke to someone about your case don't you think they HAVE it? Don't you have a cancelled check? That's how I got the case number way before any NOA1 showed up in my mailbox. All I'm saying is the NOA1 isn't something to freak out about...it's just a receipt. Others haven't received NOA1's and they were just fine. Chill.

Hi- we have the same case. My husband sent the form I-130 last August 21, 2007 and he is not receiving yet the first notice if USCIS receive our package. We got married last July 9, 2007 here in the Philippines. We are applying for IR-1.

Help!

Does USCIS require that only the petitioner can ask them the status of our case? Can I also ask on behalf of my husband who is the petitioner? I'm still in my homeland, Philippines. Is this the USCIS customer service center (1-800-375-5283)?

We have no receipt number yet so we can't check the status online.

Would appreciate if somebody could give us other advice on what to do. Many thanks

don't worry about it . my fiancé filed k 1 on may 6th but we didnt get any notice of action . The two of us freaking out at times.but on september 18,the california service center sent us an approval mail .and it appears to me that there are other members on this site who have experienced more or less the same thing. so , i think everything will be ok . you may get your notice of approval without ever getting a notice of action , which is the important thing anyways.
