April and May Filers - NOA2 to NVC

So out of curiosity I checked our case status online & we received a touch yesterday... For those of you whose files were already transferred to NVC did you receive any touches to indicate it had been sent? I did call yesterday to see if our file had been mailed out, but the lady I talked to said it had "probably" been sent with the crate that went out Wednesday. I totally got the feeling she was just trying to get me off the phone.

Let's hope it went out. They never updated my approval on the website or sent me an email. I got the approval in the mail on 10/22 approved 10/18 and they finally updated everything yesterday on the website. I called on 10/31 just for the heck of it and she said it may still be in the staging area and they're all sent out in crates. Since they waitied that long to update my info on the website (touch) I thought maybe mine was finally in a crate on it's way. Who knows, I'm just hoping at this point, especially since others have been waiting longer than me, but the crate story seems to coming up a lot lately.

Let's just be positive and say they sent them all off

She explained to me that they used to send these NOA2 one-by-one before, but then some of them ended up getting lost. So what they're doing now is to wait until the crate is filled up with NOA2, by the thousands before shipping them out.

This just means that now they'll lose the whole crate.

Ours went NOA2 10/15, left NVC 10/25 and reached Bucharest roughly 10/30 and Packet 3 was already sent on 10/31. Pretty quick progress.

I called USCIS on Oct. 29, they told me that they sent mine to NVc on Oct. 26.

I called again on the 30th. Same story.

I called USCIS today and was told that they are finally getting caught up on the backlog of petitions waiting to be shipped to NVC. I sure hope this is true!!!

I called today too just to see if I could get an estimate on how long it will take. They told me that they are almost caught up on their backlog. The customer service woman said that they send out shipments usually 2 times a week. She said it should take maybe 1 or 2 weeks and said I can call back to keep checking. Hopefully she's right. Here's to a speedy rest of the process. May we all be with our loved ones by Christmas (maybe wishful thinking, but oh well)!

She also mentioned that it could take up to 30 days for these NOA2 to be keyed into the system once NVC receives them because they come in thousands.

I called CSC (RFE trick) on Friday and was told mine was "mailed" on 10-26-07. If they are batch sending thousands at a time that might explain why NVC didn't have mine in the system yet. Musicgirl's made the trip in 2 days but perhaps that was before the uber batches started showing up.... I'm still ever hopeful mine will turn up soon, but this stress is killing me. I've lost nearly an inch in my waist from not being able to eat well!

And I thought the NOA2 hurdle was tough.....

How long is average timing to receive the hard copy of NOA2? I was approved on October 29 and did not receive my hard copy during the week. I also never received a confirmation E-mail, but my online case status shows approved on October 29.
