It seems like some people have better luck than others. Our petition flew through NVC.

How did you find out the date when your case left the NVC? Did you call? We just have one date when the NVC notice was issued...

I actually just called once, before I got the letter from them, to find out if we had gotten to NVC and the lady told me the date it was received and that it was just about to be sent to the embassy that day.

I got lucky.

I guess you can call and they will tell you.

Can the beneficiary call or does it have to be the petitioner?

I'm not sure. The woman I talkd to just verified my case number, our names and dob and then told me what was going on.

I called NVC today and they told me they didn't have our case in their system. I then called USCIS to find out when they would be sending our case and was told by a polite woman that our case had in fact been mailed to NVC on 9/13. However, due to the volume of cases they receive, it may not be in their system yet. She further stated they have crates of cases for all types of visas and it may take up to 3 weeks to get to a case. Then it will need to be assigned a number and put into a jacket prior to being sent to the embassy. So, it's very possible our cases could be sitting at NVC but just haven't been put into the system yet.

We're getting there! I'm just happy the USCIS part of this process is over!

Looking up!

I just got off the phone talking with CSC about sending approved petition onto NVC. I had a pleasant conversation with the rep, although at first she had me on a long hold but she did apologize later. I’ve confirmed our approved I-129F case is still at CSC collecting dust because the mail service contractor at CSC is running two weeks behind schedule. However, the officer said the piled up cases should be in transit within the next two weeks. She advised me to call CSC in two weeks time to confirm the case is not at CSC anymore before calling NVC. So there goes it...... safe to conclude USCIS don't mind if customers call them as long as they have a valid reason. Also, she did indicate that once USCIS approves a petition, USCIS don't have anything to do with the case anymore. Approved petitions are immediately passed onto (mail service contractor) who in turn delivers mail to their various destinations for next stage processing . Tongue in cheek, I told the officer USCIS should hire another mail servicing company to do their mails since the current contractor is under performing big time thus making USCIS look bad. Hopefully, this little update will ease the minds of all filers with NOA-2 and waiting to hear from NVC. Cheers!!

That's completely opposite of what I was told by CSC today so I guess we'll see. One of these Reps are lying but we'll find out soon enough. The information I was told is in my above post.

It could be that your case was updated correctly and Arinola's wasn't...I've had that experience with my case. If I call USCIS and use the automated system, it still says my case is pending, even though I was approved on the 19th. I called on Monday and talked to someone at USCIS and they didn't know I was approved! I called back and spoke with someone at CSC who confirmed we were approved, and then told me they were having problems updating the system. So who knows, maybe one of the reps didn't have the correct information on their screen. It doesn't make sense that yours would be at NVC and Arinola's wasn't....I would think theirs should be at the NVC too. But that's assuming of course that anything the USCIS does makes logical sense, which we know isn't true.

It sucks, but unfortunately we all just have to sit patiently and wait. UGH I am tired of being patient!!!

Hi Laurel,

I did a forum search and it appears that the notarized I-134 will be valid for 1 year. Check out this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...+valid+one+year

Here is another thread to check out: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88982

My employer letter was completed on August 8th and I haven't yet notarized the I-134. I have made copies of my 2006 W-2's, my 2006 tax return, and ordered and received my 2002-2005 tax transcripts from the IRS. It is my understanding that you don't need to provide bank statements if your income level meets the poverty line criteria; however, you may wish to perform a forum search and/or ask your questions in the Foreign Embassy and Consulate General Discussion Forum.

Anyone call NVC lately? I want to get my dusty file out of that dark dungeon called "CSC". I am sure that many of our files are black with mold and covered in dust. Can someone please get this ball rolling, I hate to be stuck, it's a terrible feeling having to wait and depend on total strangers to do such an important task. It's just a job to them, it's our life, it's our heatbeat, it's our hopes, it's our dreams and our future!!!

Thanks for your help Erin! :) I ordered the tax transcripts too, but I just got the last three years...I hope that's enough! :) I do have my W2's for the last five years though. My poor fiance has been stressing about what he needs to do so I emailed the embassy in Bucharest. I was amazed - I heard back from them in one day and they sent me the actual checklist. My fiance feels much better now :)

I sure hope we all get to the NVC soon!!!

My fiance just received packet 3 today so NOW his work truly begins. He seems dazed by the medicals.

I just started a new job this week so I am still 'fuzzy' on my financials for the I-134 so I must do some research to see what I need. I informed my employer of what I would be needing from them, and they seemed cool. Now to locate tax records and such *sigh* I'm so nervous!

Good luck everyone!
