Sometime I think to myself if they allow, I would go to their office to take the petition and mail it myself. Only 5 hours drive. Better than waiting 5 weeks. :jest:

Man I hear you! I'm at the point now where I would take vacation from work, fly to CSC, then fly to Portsmouth and hand deliver the thing if they would let me! And no, I'm not kidding either, I would do it in a heartbeat! This is so ridiculous. If their "contractor" is having problems delivering all the petitions then get a new contractor or hire more contractors on a temp basis to get caught up. And just think, we pay our taxes to fund this kind of mistreatment and incompetence.

I agree with you. If they allow us to do so wouldn't it be funny if we all go there together, pound on their doors, take our petitions and hand delivered it to the NVC. If that doesn't prove our love for our mates then I don't know what is.

This is how the US government treat their citizens who are petitioning legal immigrants to the US.

At this point, I am sick and tired of all the waiting.

Seems like illegal immigration is the way to go. If you fail once, they will deport you back to your country and then you can try again. Try until you succeed. At least with illegals, they are in control unlike all of us, we at at the whim of these idiotic employees at USCIS.

Just wanted to let other people in the same NOA 2-NVC boat know that I received a letter from my senator (I contacted him on Monday) and he said that our approval papers were mailed to NVC on Monday. So you guys who were approved around the time we were (Sept 20th) are probably in that same batch. I was encouraged and wanted to pass it on! Not much longer guys!!

p.s. not sure if the senator's inquiry actually expedited it or not--have a feeling that it did not, because I didn't contact him til later on Monday and our papers were mailed out on Monday. But, it was GREAT to have him take enough interest to inquire. Also, his letter instructed me to notify him if the NVC held our papers beyond a reasonable time, so he will definitely have my vote the next election!! Will call NVC tomorrow to see if they are there yet!

“Why do the righteous suffer?” someone asked C.S. Lewis. He replied: “They are the only ones that can handle it.”

The NVC person I spoke to on Monday said to allow 2-4 weeks to get it to our consulate in Montreal.

I have noticed that it used tp take much less time (of course) and that overseas people have been getting them to their embassies in 2 days....even still.

SpiritAlight edits due to extreme lack of typing abilities. :)

And to think this is so far only from the US end. I wonder what awaits us on the other side. It seems like we get hit with one delay after another. What was once a 3 months time to get approved and sent off to the Embassy now could take 5-6+ months. It's hard to stay positive when each new steps present a new delay. :(

I am looking at 2- 2 1/2 months once the petition gets to Thailand.

Hang in there Mr2nice you may be closer than you think. Good luck!

From what I've read and experienced, NVC only keeps K-1s for about 2 days once they have actually received them, meaning they have assigned them a case number. The 2-4 weeks response is just like saying that it can take up to 90 days to receive them, it's an attempt to reduce the amount of inquiries. The last day I called NVC was October 9th, and they told me that they didn't have my case. I received the letter October 12th, and when I called to see when they received and forwarded it, they told me they received it October 9th, which was when I called, and it left October 11th, so by the time I got the letter, the papers were already in and out of NVC.

Did the letter state how long they felt was unreasonable for NVC to mail the petition to the embassy?

The letter did not say specifically, but I'm hoping that NVC will keep doing as well as they have been, and mail it out in just a few days :)
