Hi !

Can anyone post a skeleton(sample) for letter to Senator (regarding NVC), since some of you already have done it. I never wrote official letters and despite me being USC , it's not my native language.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I just went to the website for my Senator, and they had a form to fill out - a release of information form. They asked for my name, phone number, address, SS, CIS number, etc. There was a place to fill in the description of what I needed assistance with. I can't remember exactly what I said, but I just described my situation and asked if she could help me. If you need someone to look over what you intend to send, I would be happy to read it and make corrections, if needed. :)

Thanks a lot Musicgirl, I will try and see what I am able to "create".

I just thought that may be it's suppose to be somehow official email where I describe how long we were waiting for approval (150 days) and now it's going to be more than a month more just to get it shipped. So, no highly trained people are needed , just some additional recourses to move boxes. It's just unbearable!!!!

Just did not know how to create nice and official letter out of my thoughts :-(

Maybe if we are lucky, USCIS will start sending petitions to NVC in a timely manner. Doesn't hurt to dream

Ever feel like May filers are getting SCREWED???? All the petitions before us were approved in less time. All the petitions before us got to the NVC in less time. Tomorrow I'm at 35 days and still waiting to be sent to the NVC. That's FIVE weeks. And the time seems to be increasing. I called CSC again today. She was actually pretty helpful and sympathetic even. Doesn't make any difference though. They STILL haven't sent my petition yet. It's sitting in a freaking warehouse because their data processing contractor is LAME. She said it's typically been taking 4-5 weeks....but obviously it's taking longer :(. And she said it could take another 2-3 weeks at the NVC. Christmas with my fiance might take a miracle...

Sorry to rant like this, but I think I'm at my wits end :help:

If anyone has any luck with a senator or congressperson, let us know! I haven't heard from my senator yet, but I might try another government official and see if I get anywhere.

I know Laurel!!! This is SO hard!! Sienna and I were commiserating earlier too, as we all were approved around the same time and our petitions are MIA. I've contacted my senator and I've sent a copy of my approval straight to NVC, but beyond that, it's back to waiting and praying. Keep your chin up......our guys have got to be here by Christmas!!! (If not, looks like I'll be spending Christmas in Transylvania, because I'm not missing another one with him!)

My soon-to-be in-law has experience with the fiance visa process and he says that the only way that you can get anything productive out of your congressman is by seeing him or her in person and requesting that they call the immigration services directly. He told me that calling them or by faxing/mailing a letter to them typically does not yield timely results.

Just curious if the date on the status of your petition on USCIS will change after your NOA2 date? Like to be an indicator that it was sent to the NVC???

Also, what is the deal with working permits? I asked my lawyer today but I got confused and figured I would ask my friends on VJ :) He said you can file for the working permit when you apply for the Adjustment of Status. Does that mean that your fiance cannot work legally once they are admitted into the States? Or can they work even though their working permit is being applied for?????

Thanks for the help, and GOOOOOOD LUCK!
