Back in the early 90's, developer Charles Keating tried to impose a restriction on people living in one of his developments - that they were not to have any pornography in their homes. He was later convicted of fraud, but I'm not sure what would have happened.

...

Also the guy who founded Dominos Pizza (Tom Monaghan) - another conservative Catholic who wanted his developed community to adhere to strict Roman Catholic rules. I remember listening to an explanation by the ACLU, that nobody can create a community along with rules that supercede a person's constitutional rights and liberties.

As far as what motivates these guys - I think there's something psychological that happened to them in childhood. Like how Hitler had idolized his father and his brutal strictness.

Legally they're probably in the right, but what a way to say 'we're such a bunch of tightasses we want to control how our tenants look.'

Change that to 'snobs' and ITA!

'Snobs', 'tightasses', whatever. :) Either way if they're that het up over a piercing or a tattoo they're probably going to be bitchy landlords if you want to repaint the walls or put up shelving.

Oh well... I guess I can't rent there either, 13 tattoos and 6 body piercings... Guess it's a good thing that I don't live in Texas... lol! I do, however, live in the "Bible Belt" in Tennessee and I've learned from the odd looks that I should cover up if I want people to look at me as a responsible, bill paying, employee of a huge company - corporate office... as a matter of fact, I work directly in the Office of the C.E.O. of the company and he couldn't care any less... go figure...

I have finally met my love and my best friend... I can't thank God enough for this gift! After spending 17 days in Ghana with my love, I am even more consumed by him and all that he is.
