Had a hard time trying to decide where to ask this question but since i'm renewing my passport for my AOS interview i suppose this is closest choice.

Well my Passport runs out in March 2008 just about the same time as my interview should be coming up if the 6 month processing time was exactly right. (which i know varies)...

I know i should get it renewed but i have a valid visa in my Irish Passport for another 3 years, so i am uncertain as to what happens to that visa when i get my passport renewed, is there someplace i need to take the new passport in the US to get my visa reissued?

Any help would be great....

Thanks

The passport can expire before AOS interview, passport needs to be valid at least 6 months after visa issuance, but does not need to be valid for AOS.

Please update your profile, you are not filing for N/A, and foreign country is not N/A, and local office is not N/A.

It helps everyone get your complete picture if you at least take the time to fill in the details.

Most countries return the old passport to the passport holder with a corner cut to void it, so you will have it for future reference to entry/exit stamps, and visas.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

My passport ran out 16 Sept. I renewed my passport. I did mention at the time of application that I had

an existing VISA inside the expired passport. I asked to please not cut the corners of the VISA as it

needs to remain "machine readable". This was not a problem and they handed back my expired passport.

It just means now since travelling back and forth I have to take the old and the new passport.

Come on AOS hurry up! so I don't have to do this no more!
