Hi everyone...

My son (6) and I have filed AOS through my husband. I just got the notice of action last week, for our I-130's, my 1-485, my 1-765 but no I-485 receipt for him. I wonder if there was some reason for that since we sent it all in the same -package?

The other issue I have is I am so scared of being denied because I have a youth conviction that I have been told is sealed. I contacted the Canadian Consulate and they said I cannot get those records, and I was also told this by Ottawa. They are youth records and they are sealed. I'd have to go to court with an attorney to have them reopened, which the man at the consulate thought was laughable, he couldn't believe USCIS wanted to know about youth records.

My concern is that I might be rejected because of this. I haven't even talked to a police officer in almost 10 years. I'm a pretty boring law abiding person, mom and wife and have no issues, other than that at at age 19 I was charged with uttering threats, which I told them in the packet, and they the charge was stayed and then wiped off my record thanks to the investigating officer who knew I hadn't done it.

Can anyone tell me if they think these will be an issue? The sealed conviction I got 2 years probation for and it was a bad charge. That was 13 years ago and and the charge at 19 was 10 years ago, and is no longer on my record according to the police and it was stayed at the officers request. I also sent them documentation showing that, and told them I cannot access my youth records.

I don't know what I'd do if my son and I are separated from my husband because of teenage mistakes. He's our whole life. Do you think I could be denied on these things?
