Ok im new here, im trying to find information on how to file for an AOS??? is it best to have a lawyer do the filing or is it easy enough to do it yourself? can anyone tell me how? i seen the steep by steep instructions here but they seem a little confusing to me.

Has anyone filed thier own AOS ? if so could you give me a idea of how to draft the cover sheet? How to find the local office to file the AOS

Through out this entire process we did not need or use a lawyer, if your case is simple, just follow the guides here on VJ.

AOS is filed for by mail through the national PO Box in Chicago.

Many people here file AOS by themselves as this is predominantly a DIY community

Look at the instructions for the I-485. I think you will discover NO LOCAL OFFICE option unless you live in the DORA area.

YMMV

Ok iv found the info thanks alot guys, but where is the list of fee's for each application ?

There is only 1 fee now for AOS, EAD and AP are included in that fee. $1010

I-485 Page 7.

NOTE: Effective July 30, 2007, if you file Form I-485 to adjust your status as a permanent resident, no additional fee is required to also file an application for employment authorization on Form I-765 and/or advance parole on Form I-131. You may file these forms concurrently. If you choose to file the I-765 and/or I-131 separately after the effective date, you must also submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485.

If you are adjusting from a visa other than K-Visa, you will need to file an I-130 along with the I-485, and extra fee for the I-130 will be needed, $355.

This dose not count the fee paid to a civil surgeon to either do a full medical if foreign medical was more than a year ago, or just a vaccination supplement if visa medical was less than a year ago.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services' District Office Rapid Adjudication (DORA) pilot program so that participation is optional rather than mandatory. The pilot program is open to certain aliens residing in the jurisdiction of the Dallas, El Paso, or Oklahoma City offices seeking to file Form I-485,Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Otherwise NO LOCAL OFFICE option.

Look at the instructions for the I-485. I think you will discover NO LOCAL OFFICE option unless you live in the DORA area.

i live in tulsa oklahoma . . there is a sub office in oklahoma city am i able to file my AOS there ?

If Oklahoma City is the field office with jurisdiction over your place of residency.

The following Local Office(s) service zipcode 74101:

* Oklahoma City Field Office.

This office is located at: 4400 Southwest 44th Street, Suite A Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73119-2800.

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of....office_type=LO

So yes you are handled as part of the DORA program, and can file petition at Oklahoma City.
