We are not criminals.

Yes you are. You violated the law when you crossed the border. You violated the law when you remained in this country. You violated the law when you obtained a job in this country. You continue to violate the law every day you are here. What is a criminal if not someone who violates the law? Deal with it ... you're criminals.

Illegal does not equal “criminal” – check the dictionary.

illegal - breaking the law regarding status in this country. so yes, it's criminal.

Alright then I'm engaged to a criminal. Better not have any kids, because when I think of criminal I certainly don't think of suitable father. And I guess I shouldn't rely on him to support the family when he gets here because after all he's a criminal who can't stop committing criminal acts-he may end up in jail or deadbeat. LUDICROUS.

but seriously... what other rights are they marching about? Anyone have a list? link? anything?

This kind of thing, I suppose:

The two-mile Atlanta march was in support of immigrant rights nationally as well as in protest of state legislation awaiting Gov. Sonny Perdue's signature, The Associated Press reported. If signed, it would require that adults seeking many state-administered benefits prove they are in the country legally, according to AP.
Source

Now, how dare the state of Georgia limit access to benefits to only those people that are in the country legally. How dare they not pour tax dollars out to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Cold-hearted bastards that they are.

You see? ;)

yep... Georgia is full of CHOPS...

I for one am GLAD GLAD GLAD to see that any immigrant receiving state benefits would be asked to show legality!

i don't see that such is a laughing matter, as her petition was denied. it's called compassion. no matter how much i've fought tooth and nail with missliss, i'd still rather have seen her petition granted, instead of seeing those making fun at her misfortune and expense.

Who wants cake and eat it too?

Ok why would I want cake if I couldn't eat it?

Cake or death.... Sorry, we're outa cake.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh miror... you are so funny!

I gave you the dictionary definition above... but here...how's this also...

Section 1325 of Title 8 of the United States Code, subdivision (a), states as follows:

Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

Imprisonment is not a consequence of a civil offense. Entering the country illegally, even the first time, is a crime.

Add to that the tax evasion and/or ID theft that goes along with illegally taking up employment in the US and you got yourself a pretty good record of felonies.

and on that note, following the chain of logic.... if you have a felony you lose your right to vote (if you are a USC) therefore, these people would/should never have the right to vote. Therefore, their marching for the right and saying things like "tomorrow we vote" is ridiculous.
