Hi all,

I went to GA DMV (http://www.dds.ga.gov/locations/dllocations.aspx?csc=37) for my driver license renewal, I shown the NOA letter with my expiring conditional residence card(expire in May 2008). They did not understand it at first, but talked with other officials and issued the license for one year. I think it depends on the mood of that official in that particular office.

My experience with Atlanta Local Office: I went there to get stamp on my passport, they did not give me one and told me it’s not necessary.

Yes, they did accept it!

We went to our local DMV office here in Ga with my wifes one year extension letter and her about to expire green card.

A new license was issued which will expire one year from the date on the extension letter.

She was accepted simply beacuse her 2 year green card had not yet expired. My wife could have done the same thing as well but we fell for the "mail in your renewal" form instead of just going there. Cost us 3 weeks before they mailed her back saying her green card had expired....yada..yada...yada.

If her license had been issued due to her green card not being expired, the DMV would have not have issued a new license as her the old license would expire on the same date as her green card (which would be 5 days). Her license was extended one year from the date on her extension letter.

"She was accepted simply because her 2 year green card had not yet expired" is simply not accurate.
