Well, after nearly 1 month, I received my AOS package back today. Everything was rejected, because a single check was included.

Here's the thing - there is only one error - the I131 in section 2 is ticked d. 'I am applying for advanced parole'. The rejection says that based on this it should have gone to Nebraska.

According to the instructions when filing with a I485 it goes with the pack to Chicago Lockbox.

Now then, I paid total 1010$ - is it saying that I didnt pay for it and so it should be filed separately? I thought the new fee was inclusive or did I read this wrong?

Worst of all, I am starting work this week and I have about 3 weeks left on my Employment Authorisation. ANy suggestions seeing as I am going to run out of permit......?

I was able to get an interim EAD for about a month ago. I brought an employment letter, the IO had a look at it and then went to his supervisor. They approved my interim EAD on the spot. I had to do the biometrics again and had the interim EAD about 10 days later. However, I believe the policy changed just a few weeks ago, and there is longer possible to get this interim EAD. Nevertheless, make an infopass, explain your situation, and bring an employment letter. It could work.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Altho even if your packet had been accepted your new EAD wouldn't have arrived yet...?

No but when I sent it I had around 7 weeks left which would have meant a much shorter gap.

Hmm - according to the USCIS Customer services (I queued for the higher level!) there is nothing wrong, fees OK, my interpretation is correct, it was an error by the checker. SO I have to send it to case resolution and request expedited handling. AND it is often the case that employers will accept CURRENT work authorisation and proof of application for a replacement for up to 90 days before it becomes a problem. Unofficially.

So my fingers are tightly crossed.
