oohh, Congrats!!!

Hey, got a question, I noticed that the email you had received said the 25th of Sept. Did you receive multiple emails? I received our first one a day after you, but then received a few more a few days later. I'm just eager to see my husbands card finally arrive.

Also, I heard that it's good to wait 2 weeks before you go try to get your SSN after receiving your EAD (If SSN wasn't possible before) Did you already receive your SSN? Just curious..

For me, my 90-day work authorization (obtained in JFK upon entry) expired on October 2, and I got a job offer on September 28th. Since my employer already had looked at my visa and asked whether October 2nd was the expiration date of my work authorization, or its START date, I just told him the truth about it.

Concurrently, I knew that my actual EAD (I-765) had been approved the day before and my card was gonna be in the mail, so I also told him that. I said I could show him the USCIS case tracking system where it says my employment authorization was approved, and he said that'll do just fine. I'll just show him the actual card as soon as I have it. I start this Monday!

As for this:

Same here -- I got two emails on 9/27 and two more on 10/3 that said the same thing. Weird.

I think the two-week thing is only when you enter the US; I would think you could go apply for your SSN as soon as you had your employment card in hand.

Hi, I received an email on September 25th and another one on October 3 .The second wmail was telling me that they mailed me a notification that my EAD was approved. But yesterday, October 4 I got the EAD card in the mail.

I think you will gat your car today or tomorrow :)

I got my SSN about 3 weeks ago.At first, the clerk at the SS office told me I have to wait for my EAD but it`s not true...as a K1 visa holder you are automaticlly authorized to work even if you don`t have a stamp on the passport from the POE.I found that on their website and I printed it.I showed the clerk those pages and asked her to explain...she said.."oh..sorry...you are right, you don`t need an EAD to get your SSN" A week later I got the SSN card in the mail.

You don`t have to wait for 2 weeks, as soon as you get your EAD card, go apply for a SSN.

i got my EAD Oct 03 and i immediately applied for SSN the following day. After my application the lady at the SS office gave me a piece of paper explaining everything that i may legally begin employment while waiting for the issuance of a SS card. Anyone with the same experience? Will i be able to get my SS card within a week because there is a work waiting for me and i'm very eager to start working! Thanks!
