Is DCF no longer accepted?

I realize this may sound like a stupid question since there are many of you in the filing process of DCF, however, I read online that DCF is no longer being done at ANY country. Is this true? Here is the site I read it on: http://usaimmigrationattorney.com/DCFandnoDCFcountries.html

Are they mis informed? This is an immigration attorney's website.

I contacted my US embassy in Jamaica and they told me to first come in and discuss my options, and then they said since I am living in Jamaica I should file with the USCIS Service Center in Jamaica. Is this considered filing DCF? Its not that easy to get to the Embassy in Jamaica. Its at least a 4hour drive away. AT FIRST, when I wrote my emal, they didnt know what I meant by "DCF". I could have just got an uninformed email recipiant. So that is why I am turning to my well-informed VJ'ers. You guys seem to be more educated on this stuff than the folks who work at the Embassy.

Was temporarily discontinued last Jan or February, due to the Adam Walsh law, but since March has been allowed, with new requirements.

The US citizen must have been resident in the consular district 6 months or more.

DCF is "board" speak so it is not surprising they didn't know.. You need to ask if they accept I-130 petitions directly filed at the consulate.

The important thing to note on your link is the author indicates "non-resident" visitors which is an important caveat

Be carefull what is said on non'government immigration sites as LOTS are incorrect and not updated also.

Even government sites are difficult to understand some of the time.

Yep, that's what we call "DCF". It's definitely the way to go even though the drive to the embassy is a pain. The process will be so much quicker and easier, and it will result in an immigrant visa in less time than it takes to get a non-immigrant K3 visa through a US center and NVC.

The immigrant visa (I'm guessing CR1 as it seems you've been married less than two years), means that the green card will be produced as soon as you enter the US with him instead of having to go through adjustment of status and waiting at least 90 days after filing adjustment of status for him to be able to work. So it's cheaper as well as faster.

If they've asked you to go in to discuss your options, that seems to be mean you file the petition in person. I would double-check on that. If you can file in person, that makes the process even faster. Good luck!
