My wife had her Green Card interview on Feb 7, 2005 in Charlotte NC. It has been more than 2 months now and we have received nothing. What do you suggest we should do?

Also, we have bought tickets to go back to Iran for visit in June. I believe that was a stupid thing to do, and I told my wife lets wait and see what happens with your green card. Please advise me on what to do. Thank you

I'm not 100% sure, but maybe you could make an Infopass appointment and go and explain your situation and you have these airline tickets. Did you get a stamp in your passport? If so, that will allow you to leave the country. I'd make an Infopass and then ask for a stamp in the passport. Show proof of the airline tickets. They may understand and help you out. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out. :)

Thank you for the quick reply. The problem is that during the initial interview the officer did nothing. After the interview was over he said that he has had enough evidence and he will take our case to another officer to look at and let us know about the results shortly. He did not stamp my wife's passport nor did he take out the I-94 from her passport.

As I talked to the 1800 number this morning, the lady said that it will take up to 1 month to get results from status inquiry.

I have to wait for my tickets to arrive before making a trip to charlotte.

We had our interview on feb 17th and have heard nothing also. There are several others waiting for even a longer time - some for 6 months. You can do a search for the thread - look for 'biometrics' and you should find it. If you go for infopass, please post what they did - some have posted that they did nothing for them in this situation. Good Luck

It doesn't sound certain that your wife's case has been approved yet, sean2000. If it has, an InfoPass appointment should net her an I-551 stamp for travel if you're firm and polite. If she has not yet been approved, she can travel on Advance Parole (if she is otherwise eligible to do so).

I would not wait on whatever the 1-800# people said they are doing.
