To all my fellow shopaholics:

Bring your foreign passports to any Macy's and they will issue you a discount card for foreigners. I think it is called an International visitors discount. The card is good for about a month or so. The discount is good for all of your Macy's purchases (even sale items). Saving money makes husbands very happy.

I better not tell Kristy about this. Favorable exchange rate, plus a discount, plus money from the wedding = no more money. Not really, though, she's too into getting stuff ready for the baby. Unless they have a maternity section, then she'll be all over that place.

I use it all the time I need anything from Macys.... I just got a whole load of stuff in the sale that was reduced by 25% and then you get the 11 % on top so total saving off the original price is 36%..... you have got to love macys....

I'm sad. The Macy's here hasn't reopened since the Hurricane. I don't know if they are ever planning on re opening.

So do you need to present your passport at a customer service desk or something? And can you keep doing it? Like go back later and say you're "visiting" blah blah blah and get a new discount card?

I found out about it a couple of years ago. Not sure when it started though.

Misa, I think you take your passport to customer service but I'll find out for sure. Maybe Kez or G&A will stop back in to answer, though.

My mother in law is visiting my husband in the US. All she did was take in her foreign passport to the customer service and she got a card that is good for a month that gives her 11% off. When I finally move, I plan on doing it every month hahahah...unless they log is in their system. No clue how long it has been around for. I just found out about it from my mother in law over the weekend.

I am not sure if this is only in select stores but I know some Macy's will allow you the discount even if you are a tourist from out of state. I used this discount at the Macy's in Las Vegas just showing my Florida drivers license

I just opened an account with Macy's when I visited my husband this weekend. They gave me an extra 11%, but it was only good for 5 days. But I really only opened it in an attempt to establish credit (as per another post), so I was pleasantly surprised to get the extra discount.
