Just read another post, and it made me worried.

For my age group I need MMR, Td and Varicella(I've already had chicken pox).

I have no clue where my vax records are....I had a titer test performed here in Korea, and it proves that I have immunity to varicella and MMR.....they said one couldn't be done for Td, but I read that it can.

But this other poster is saying they want all records from birth...how is that possible to obtain, and what if I don't have it? I don't want to be revaccinated. I'd rather submit an exemption form than be re-vaxed.

The dr. implied that dates could just be made because the infant vacinations aer done before you can attend school in Canada....

Also a lab report will show if you have those antibodies as well....

You'll need to be up-to-date with Td (tetanus diptheria). Tentanus is not a lifelong vaccine and only lasts for 10 years so you'll need to get a booster if you haven't had one in the past 10 years.

Don't worry, you don't need to be revaccinated for everything! I was in Canada and I didn't have any records of any vaccinations from my home country - Russia. I went to my doctor in Canada with the list from Dr. Seiden's website, and she did a blood test proving my immunity to MMR and Varicella. So I just got a shot for Td no problem, and asked my doctor to give me a written confirmation of the immunity and the shot done. That was enough for the medical and nobody asked me for anything else.

If you titer tests are from Korea, just get it translated into English and bring it with you to the medical.

I'm confused too. In Vanc for my medical appt this coming wednesday, the receptionist emails you. First she told me that I needed the MMR and tetanus, but then a few days later, told me I only needed the tetanus, which I just got. I was vaccinated as a young child for MMR, I have my little immunization record here. My Dr doesn't give the MMR, and after making several phone calls to different offices (Dr, public health office, etc), the only place that will give the MMR here is an international travel clinic. Maybe I should just go in and get the MMR, just to be sure.

samaci, you don't need another MMR shot if you already had it and have proof of that. The only vaccine that's on the required list for most of us in a certain age group (18-64) that doesn't give lifelong immunity and needs a booster shot every 10 years is the tetanus shot.

I think there's another one, too, Misa. Not sure which one it is but when my doctor injected it he said "This one hurts. I know that because all the babies cry when they get it." After I picked up my jaw and pushed my eyeballs back into my head I said I understood why the babies cry now.:dead:

I meant that the only one that doesn't give lifelong immunity is tetanus since you need a booster every 10 years. That's the one that hurts since it's given intramuscularly. Ouch! :P

Maybe the other one you're thinking of is diptheria which is part of the tentanus one (it's a combination vaccine).

Here's the required ones that are age-specific: http://panelphysicians.com/Pages/Immunizations.htm

For most of us, all we need are:

- Td

- MMR

- chicken pox (can give a verbal declaration at Canadian panel physicians)

If you're 19 and under, then you need Hep B.
