I'm sorry Rina, I'll say a prayer for you too! :) Unfortunately, the message changed on the automated service, at least it changed BUT I WISH it would say "Case Complete" lol. It now says....

"The NVC has reviewed the packet of information and has found something missing or incomplete. A checklist letter was sent to the petitioner on September 24th......"

Argh! Even though I heard all this yesterday I still cannot BELIEVE it! I know they lost something because I put EVERYTHING in there that I was supposed to! It makes me SO mad how MANY people go through this AND how careless and NOT careful immigration can be with our paperwork!

I don't know WHAT the checklist is asking for. I know it is regarding the police certificate, but is it "missing"? I'm not sure because yesterday my husband called up NVC and spoke to a woman who actually checked our file and said "the police certificate is in there"??? What??? Then what is the problem? There is not a different kind that we can get and IF they say that there is, well then I AM STUMPED lol!

(I think I would rather it be that it was "missing" instead of asking for a different one!)

Keep in touch everyone and update if you can! My prayers go out to you! :)

Don't worry Rina, you're case will get completed soon. Looking at your timeline, you should allow them one more week since your DS230 has been entered on 9/14, that is effectively only one week passed. You should not count the 9/10 week. I am pretty positive your case will be done by next week. Time goes by slow when we spend time thinking about this process, if you just forget about NVC only for a short while, you'll pick up the phone and find out your case already been completed.

Good morning Megan,

I know a couple of people who submitted their DS230 the same time I did. Unfortuantely my dear friend, NVC found a "problem" with theirs too, which is really frustrating. It seems that they are thoroughly checking everything and returning back even the slightest error that can be found on the DS230 or the documents.

Now I am thinking they can place me under that "missing or incomplete" category. I made an exact copy of what I sent them, and double check again the information my husband sent me and the filled-in information, I don't think we did an error on what they need on there. Oh well, I am not NVC so I can not say for sure... :(

One thing that made me feel OK today was the fact that they changed it from CR1 to IR1 since we just celebrated our 2nd year anniversary this month. At least something good happen to me this week with NVC.

Keep us posted Meg, and good luck to all of us!

:) Thanks Medieval for your post. All I am concern is I hope I will not be RFE'd for something really silly on the DS230, as they can really be stingy if they wanted too. I mean, they can review it for as long as they want but taking too much time and then they would send it back to me after 2 weeks with a missing checklist is down right injustice.

I am just going to think positive right now so the bad vibes will go away

DONT WORRY RINA. YOUR CASE WILL BE COMPLETED SOON. The NVC might be reviewing your documents and DS230 now. Maybe my case got completed a little bit faster coz it was just a response on an RFE. I only submitted my police clearances and DS230 not a whole bunch of documents.

Well...looks like it IS the wrong police certificate. Hubby went to the DGIC today and showed them the exact police certificate that he sent to NVC. They told him it is the wrong one...so looks like NVC is right and WE were wrong! grrr lol. So hubby is getting the right one today and sending it to me. I'll probably get it next week.

I don't believe you should worry about your case getting a missing or incomplete message. I am sure that it will be complete VERY soon! You are definitely in my prayers! :)

Even though there has been a slight delay in our case, I still am relieved and feel a bit better knowing what it is! :)

Keep us posted too Rina! Good luck to all as well!

Hey Meg,

Glad to hear you got that sorted out, at least you now know what it is so that takes some of the stress out of it, you can get the document, you will have it in your hands next week, all good!

I decided, since I know what my RFE/Checklist is for, that I am sending the adjusted DS-230 part 1 back to NVC today, should only take 1 business day to get there.

I don't have the RFE coversheet, however I did do a coversheet of my own which included the barcode. Not sure if they will not like this, however I'm sending it anyway and hope they just accept it

I am getting the I-864 RFE checklist from them, which they decided to send me on the same date as your DS-230 RFE checklist, however I will also post (in the pinned topic on shortcuts) what it looks like when I get it so we can compare! However, I'm not as optimistic that it'll arrive in a day or two, rather I'm expecting another week to 2 weeks, but I'd be really happy if it came sooner given the really minor correction they want (which is not even about supporting documentation).

I have a copy of the RFE checklist which I'm happy to share with you guys, however, the checklist is 4 pages:

Page one - letter to the person saying review the info we have sent (which you have to include (ie return page 1) with your checklist when you send it back) - has 2 barcodes on it

Page two - actual checklist coversheet with barcode (also needs to be returned)

Page three - briefly outlines what they need or what you have missed (no specifics)

Page four - gives a more detailed description of each item that needs to be corrected

So, the question is, is it worth it to try to duplicate pages 1 and 2? I don't know - but I will modify them now - to exclude our info - and I will post them here for you to decide.

So, you're saying two barcode sheets are to be returned together? (both with the same barcodes presumably, have to be returned with the requested documents/corrections) I would think page 2 would be adequate, but you'd know better than me.

I don't have the RFE coversheet, however I did do a coversheet of my own which included the barcode. Not sure if they will not like this, however I'm sending it anyway and hope they just accept it

Let us know if this works!

I am think of taking my I-864 barcode cover sheet and using it to send in my corrected I-864A by handwriting on the barcode sheet that it is for a correction in response to their RFE dated 9/25/07. What's the worst that could happen?
