I've been reading a few threads where some people have experienced problems getting jobs because employers worried that the non-USC was not committed to staying at the job becuase they were not a USC.

My husbands considering putting a statement at the end of his resume:

REASON FOR LEAVING LAST POSITION

I left Ethiopia and my business to marry my wife. We moved to her hometown in Louisiana and recently relocated to Seattle, where my wife is attending _________.

Good idea? Bad idea?

I've been putting "Moved to the US" as reason for leaving my last job. In the interview, I can explain the whole marriage as reason for moving, etc.

I think if someone has been willing to leave their life behind to move to a new country to be with their significant other, it shows he/she is a commited person.

So far, I haven't had negative reactions from prospective employers.

I put "moved to the U.S" as well.

It's illegal for your employer to ask about your marriage and the exact circumstances of your relocation. And you don't have to tell them unless you want to :) I was once asked at an interview if there's a chance I am going back to Russia - I just said no.

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09
