Hi, I would need to have my 2nd dose varicella already but I don't know anyone here. Do you have any recommendations on where to have it? Can I just have it SLEC again and just pay? Do you also know how much it would cost (or estimate)? Thanks..

Hello dj1206! I just had my 1st dose of varicella last September 17, 2007 with my private doctor and it costs me Php 2100 for the said dose. I already called SLEC about the second dose and they said I can get it at SLEC during my early medical on the 22 of October since the 2nd dose should be given a month after the 1st dose. Anyway, I am sure that there are plenty of doctors in Manila if you are from there. I had mine here in Surigao City with a private doctor as mentioned above. Hope this helps.

With regards to having it at SLEC again, I suggest you call them and inquire if that would be possible since you were done with your medical schedule. You should have informed them with your concern after you had been told by SLEC of that second dose, then they might have helped you and advised you with what to do. So, call SLEC now!

If you are doing this for AOS then you need to see a civil surgeon. Otherwise, does the county you live in have a health clinic, they would be a good one to look or or your family physician. Orange County's agency is called the Health Care Agency.

Go to Manila Doctors Hospital, they costs a little cheaper than other clinics. But i suggest that you grab a yellow book and make some calls to get the prices first.

You can have it at any Clinic or hospital and you can also have it done at SLEC, just call them ahead of time so they will know and will have a ready vaccine for you. If you decide to have it done at a clinic and/or hospital, just make sure to ask for a medical certificate. Varicella dose can range from p1,200 to 1,800.00. Health centers don't have this vaccines (the government don't have budget for it and not really that concern with their people's health ). Pediatricians have supplies of vaccines more than Adult (IM) doctors, so you may have to contact a Pediatrician. Good Luck!

Hmm I think I'll just go call SLEC first. My aunt won't answer our text/call...Anybody who has gone to SLEC to have 2nd dose too? Just wondering.
