How can WE protest the "Immigration Reform"

It's almost always the people who have a lot to lose or think they have a lot to lose, who protest.

We are neither.

Or those who want to change things for other people.

Ok, you talked me into it. I will email Pallone and Corzine/Lout right now.

Good for you. :thumbs:

I wondered about drafting a letter with a space for everyone to add their personal experiences, putting it on here and everyone sending it to the White House. There are other forums we could tap also, and something needs to be done.

Local media could be a good outlet in some areas, if anyone's inclined to write a letter to the editor, or an op-ed piece; after all, it's a hot topic right now, I'm sure local press would print it.

Oh, and I emailed Lou Dobbs the other day :P

I'm game if you guys are....

Im in too.

I think its shamefull that the so called illegals are looking for rights when they broke the law and came into this country illegally. The US have laws for a reason and if you break them face the consequences.

What about us the legal immigrants here. Do we not have a voice. In my personal case i waited 4 months to get the K1 visa, i have been here since early march and probably wont be able to work till july. Is that fair,of course its not. My fiance is working her ### off to support us both. If we didnt live with her parents we wouldnt be able to survive. Yet im not kicking up a fuss.

Yes its frustrating but also its the only way if you want to do things the legal way. Many others havent been as lucky when going through the K1 of any any other visa process. Many are forced to leave their familys behind. Families are broken apart. Many dont survive due to the sheer frustrating of life without been able to work legally for the first few months when they come over.

As I've said elsewhere, I'm all in favor of holding our own protests, protests that emphasize the need to overhaul the whole immigration system. While concentrating on illegals and their purported rights may be fashionable, what most of us really want is facilitated access for legal immigrants in general and family-based immigrants in particular.

I've said that before too.... let's concentrate on US!

And I'm in!!

First we should decide what kind of letter it's gonna be;

Then we decide who's going to write the letter;

Then we should get one person from each state, if possible, and publish the letter.

Let's do this people.....

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

I wonder how many of the CSC workers are protesting and have left work to do so giving a reason for the dead stop CSC has had on approvals lately.

It just all makes me sick to my stomach. :(

Can you also imagine going to any SSA office if the Senate bill becomes law. You will have all those people applying for SSNs and the ones that have worked illegally trying to get their wages posted to the correct SSN record.
