DCF Chile

Hello people! I think I should introduce myself before telling my story. I'm Mona, I'm 19 and I'm from Chile

Well, my story begins when my husband (Greg) and I applied to a Fiance(e) Visa last year (in September or October). Before he came (Nov 15th, 2006) we decided to get married here because we really wanted to be together and we thought that it'd be easier for the Immigration process and also since we didn't see any answer from the NVC we just did it. We got legally married on Dec 12th and on January (I can't remember the date) we received a package from the Embassy where they approved my K-1 Petition and we were happy but a little bit surprised because we were already married, we went to the Embassy and we explained everything, that we were married so they could just stop the process or do something about it but they told us that it was okay, we weren't too sure about that but we continued the process thinking that it was just fine, they gave us the date of the final interview on February and I had the doctor appointment on March, everything was perfect.

The day of my final interview I had a feeling but we still went to the Embassy to the final interview, we had all the required certificates and evidences of our relationship (BTW we met online 4 years ago but we used to send letters and packages to prove it) and the officer saw my Marriage certificate and he said: You're not eligible for a Fiancee Visa because you're married. He told us to wait a little bit and that he'd call me back to the window and when he did, he told me that they'd have to invalidate my Visa Application and that my husband should come back to the US (he didn't mention DCF as an alternative) and we asked if they could modify the application or something but sadly he wasn't able to tell us what to do.

After that we looked up for solutions and read a lot about Visa stuff, I even posted my case in a Livejournal Community (loversfaraway) and they told me about DCF and then I knew about this community. We went to the Embassy to ask about DCF but Greg didn't have his Chilean residency so we couldn't do too much, so he had to do that before start the whole process again. He applied for his Residency on May and he got his Residency and ID on August. We went to the Embassy and they filed the I-130 and the other forms, they received my certificates (Birth, Police and Marriage), my medical exam (I had my appointment on March 13th) and the passport photos and they say that they'd send me a letter, which I received 2 days ago and my final interview is on October 10th (I'm very nervous lol).

Now my questions are: According to them, the medical exams last 1 year and it hasn't been a year yet but they sent me another form for a Medical Exam. Tomorrow I'm sending an e-mail to the embassy asking if I should have another doctor appointment or if they need another blood test (I assume that must be the most important because they need to make sure that I don't have HIV) because it'd be very frustrating to have another Visa application invalidated for another stupid mistake, Have you had any similar experience to mine?, Have they told you to schedule another medical appointment in 1 year?,

Off Topic: How many orginal certificates (birth and marriage) will I need once I get to the US?

Doesn't matter what others have experienced.

If they ask for another medical just get it!

If you guys keep screwing up you'll end up getting a IR visa.

Actually that would be for the better!

Have at least 2 Certified Certificates of any documents pertaining to your case,
