I agree.. I know Delhi is a much bigger city .. and therefore part of the concern for no contact... He knows that if he cannot get the phone to work.. he will ALWAYS find a pc to get word to me..

There has been many times even when he was out at a site in country that he even went and borrowed the pc from the man at the petrol station just so he could tell me he was running late.. .. sooo this long makes no sense at all.

As far as why he did Delhi.. not too many people here understand the reasons why we have not filed for K1.. and actually wont be.. we are hoping to get married when he connects in Canada.. and file a K3. ... long story dont wish to bore unnecessarily .

But due to the fact that he is fluent in English.. he is given a option to have his interview in either Mumbai or Delhi... and Delhi was the fastest to get a date for interview.

Keeping my prayers going... and keeping positive..

I know you are probably still awake but replied and emailed you the attachment and emailed it to my honey as well. He said as soon as he gets the addresses he will get on with the courier.

Update..

this morning . the phone was actually answered... whoo hoo...../??

but it wasnt answered by Jan.

It was his sisternlaw... she said hello.. but since she doesnt speak english .she hung up

then i called back.. and.. the 3 yr old answered..

I knew it was him since i could hear him .. .. and rustling of the phone. and I could hear noises in the background.. I kept saying hello.. hello etc..

but no one came onto the phone.

Only explination for this would be that Jan left the phone at home when he left to Delhi.. .or .. he is back.. and thinks phone is lost ?? or something has happened to him..

but.. since i cannot get anyone to pick up the phone and talk... I dont know.. not too easy to get a lil 3 yr old to respond when he is thinking the dang phone is a toy.. grr.

at least the phone is not dead.

Does his sister in law speak Hindi or just Gujarati? Does she know who you are if you said your name?

In Hindi you say "mera naam Janet hai" to say "my name is Janet". Anyway that might not help much past the first sentence if you don't understand Hindi though. But you could do a 3 way call like pbgirl said or maybe someone can just call the number for you who speaks Hindi and then tell you what they said. If you need help I'm sure I could get Sujeet to do something, but he does not speak Gujarati.

FINALLY GOT SOME NEWS....

it is a small bit of news but it is still the same.

I have been trying both numbers continuously 2-4 x's a hour.. during the wake times for me.. and day times for them.. ..

the one main number I have for his mobile.. the one that the nephew had in his hands wandering around the house.. was dead.. got the whole message that it is not accessible.

then on one last attempt of calling the mobile # that is used for his net connection... it rang.. whoo hoo. but what has tended to happen was it just rang about 8 x's then goes off to message of your party is not responding.. buttttt.. the phone was answered...

HELLO.. a young lady spoke... hello..... xxxxxx this is Janet.. is Janak.. papa there.>.. hello.. she said.. .. papa is very sick.. please call in 3 more days.. ... Vxxxx .. what?? I asked.. . she said . "My Father is very sick has allot of cough in chest" .. "He is very sick call in a few days" .. I asked if he made it to Delhi. . she said yes but he is very sick please call in three days.. .. Yes Vxxx.. i will please tell him I will .. thank you.....

conversation was very short .. I know she is limited in her English.. but was extremely pleased that I had gotten at least that much..

At this moment ALL I can do is wait.... a few more days to call back .. and hope that Jan is strong enough to get to the phone.

and you know.... how that little assumption bug can bite one... I have had my mind wondering on all the worse case scenarios.. .. and. .. you know what assuming can do... ###-u-me I even got to the point of putting my fears into a email.. .. some a bit harsh... my doubts.. etc.. now I feel like a #######.. since he is indeed sick.. ..

What I don't understand.. is.. why couldn't anyone get word to me... and... also.. I had noticed on his myspace.. last update to the site was Sept 11 and last login to the site was Sept 21... so.. if he could in-fact get online.. why the heck.. did he not get me word... .. .

These are all things that will need to be discussed with him... and . as his daughter said.. call back in a few days... .. hopefully by then he would have READ all my notes.. my concerns.. my fears.. my love.. and only know or understand of what my words were doing were grasping out of love...

I am happy you finally got some news, at least you know Jan is alive and wasn't in some horrible accident - I am horribly scared of the traffic in Kathmandu and when I don't hear from G that is always what I think of, in every IM I tell him 'walk safely'...

I know that old assumption bug all too well, like I said when you dont hear from your love all of those old nagging fears rear their ugly heads and you start thinking the worst... You might remember my story with my ex, there were so many times he wouldn't write me for days and I got so furious with him, usually I would write angry emails and delete them just to vent, but I did send a couple and ended up regretting them a day or two later when he would say he was in a remote village with no comm facilities... Fortunately G is very nice about telling me in advance when he thinks he might not be able to email or IM, times when he couldn't notify me there was a family emergency like with his bahini or bandh which he couldn't foresee...the expectation and letdown when he does not show up online is the worst part for me and he knows that....It sounds like Jan is just as considerate and like you said I wonder why if he was on myspace in that time he did not email you as well...

I just hope you both will be back to regular communication soon, at least your worst fear is gone and I think you will sleep much better tonight...

Pattu.. yes. I oh sooo do know of the fear of the accidents..

Three years ago.. it took 7-9 days to finally get word from him ... he swore that would never happen again. .augh right.. psahhh..

but at that time.. it WAS a accident.. he was driving the motorcycle.. a rickshaw cut in front of him . and a bus.. rickshaw was leaking oil.. bla bla. bla.. he laid the bike down.. .. atop of himself.. and slid.. .. motorcycle landing ontop of his leg.. fracturing his leg in two places.. and his foot.. along with a nasty muffler burn down the thigh..

His mobile was lost.. he ended up waking in hospital.. .. and finally was able to contact me when his brother got him a new phone.. .. .. was interesting to hear him all loopy on pain meds.. ..

sooo that was my fear.. I am thankful that he did not get hurt via a accident.. I don't think I can really relax until I hear from him... I don't know what kind of "illness" or sickness etc.. but it sounds like it is respiratory.. which is not always good... I feel soo helpless. .. especially when i have the ability to work on people ... and do.. everyday in my practice..

Until I can hear his voice.. and KNOW that it is not just something his daughter said or someone says.. .. right now I still have .. too many things swirling in my mind...

one of the main ones is.. .. how is it .. that .. he cannot get to the phone..? ..... .. or even get just a simple word to me... .. .. I know that I would stop the world to make sure he knew of something that would happen to me or the kids...

maybe that is just that... . augh.. I had better stop.. before I go where I don't want to.. I need to just be positive...and.. know.. what is in my heart...

MOSTLY I need to stop listening to others.. telling me.. that .. he is just out for visa or some crapo like that.. . they don't know us nor our relationship... only we do... and it is .. at this moment.. when people .. so called friends.. place the insecurities into our brains. that cause the most damage..

I can wait for him.. and know ........what is a few more days...
